"a program with eight state titles to its name"????

Skyline has 14 State Titles to its name.

Thanks for the correction Parry. You are correct sir.

I'm not going to make any predictions yet but what I have seen so far is impressive.

It kinda feels like the old Skyline again.

    Go E-A-G-L-E-S!

While Skyline has indeed won 14 state titles, I believe the writer meant that the Eagles won eight championships over the consecutive seasons (28 from 1985-2012) that Skyline made the playoffs.

    Mr. Felt,

I wondered that, but the way it was stated, it did not come across that way. The article said: "For the first time in 30 years, a program with eight state titles to its name missed the playoffs altogether." Skyline has 14 state titles TO ITS NAME, not 8.

If that is what was meant, then something like "Skyline, who had appeared in the playoffs for 28 consecutive years capturing 8 state titles during that span, missed the playoffs altogether."
