When I was writing sports at the Y I knew every player on the basketball team
and saw every game they played. Valoy was one of my favorites. As I recall he
was the sixth man with long arms,and hunched shoulders and a fun player to watch
with his smooth jump shot and fierce rebounding attitude as he was a competitor.
I rediscovered him many years ago and was surprised he was painting. I have
since taken it up and still marvel at the feelings I get whenever I see one of
his hallmark paintings in the temples. I always pay special attention to the
original temple paintings and seek out his. Thanks for all the spirituality I

It is interesting that the article quotes Orrin Hatch but doesn't mention
that they are cousins. I too am a cousin to Valoy and have actually met him
once, years ago. I do like his art. We share the common ancestor that Sen.
Ellie was one amazing lady and a wonderful mother too. We moved out of the area
over twenty years ago so didn't know that she passed away. Valoy and
family must really miss her.
