Will Langi be another Manti Teo?
Langi sounds like quite a football potential. If he is just a few months back
from a mission I sure hope the coaches don't let him rush himself too
quickly and torpedo his career with serious injuries when he wasn't
operating at more than 70-80% fitness.
I for one think the Langi transfer is a win win for both Utah and byu. He
improves the athleticism of byu's team and Utah can replace him with a
player committed to fulfilling Utah's goals. If a player wants
the warm fuzzy byu "experience" there is nothing wrong with that. That
person just isn't the kind of person that will win big time bowl games and
win big boy conference titles. If a kids' focus is on his church -
that's just fine - but he should go to byu.
Christopher B"Utah can replace him with a player committed to
fulfilling Utah's goals."You mean Utah's pipe
dreams. The Utes have never qualified for a bowl after playing a Top
40 schedule and the Utes are 9-18 as members of the PAC 12.Utah only
won 6 conference championships in 49 years as members of the WAC/MWC, and have
only won one CC during the Bronco/Kyle era. What makes you think the
Utes are even capable of winning a big boy conference championship?
@skywalker"You mean Utah's pipe dreams. The Utes have never
qualified for a bowl after playing a Top 40 schedule"And BYU has
never gone undefeated against a Top 95 schedule."Quest for
Perfection" is THE classic example of a pipe dream. Utah has
accomplished that twice.LOL
Thanks to all of the ute fans that are obsessed with EVERYTHING BYU. We
So we learn from Ute fans today that if a player wants to focus on church but
not football, he should go to the school with a national championship in
football, a Heisman trophy winner, a 9 bowl streak, and that has finished the
season ranked more than 15 times. However, if he wants to focus on
football he should go to the school with no football national championship, no
Heisman winners, with only about 6 seasons ended ranked, and have not qualified
for a bowl game since 2011.That makes sense.
Christopher B-"If a player wants the warm fuzzy byu
"experience" there is nothing wrong with that. That person just
isn't the kind of person that will win big time bowl games and win big boy
conference titles."And Utah has won just how many "big boy
conference titles?" It appears that the Utes have never had that kind of
person on their rosters. Or is this the year they win the PAC?You
might want a concrete or 'rock-solid' foundation for your Program
before making silly and disparaging statements.Go Bruins!
[We've won a few new year's day Rose Bowls and a couple of PAC
championships along the way.]
CBThanks for the humor re: utah and BYU.
truthsandwichPlease explain how BYU's National Championship
season has any bearing whatsoever on Utah's ability to be a contender in
the PAC 12.As skywalker stated,"What makes you think
the Utes are even capable of winning a big boy conference championship?"The Utes have never even qualified for a bowl after playing a Top 40
schedule, something BYU accomplished last season.
truthsandwichOnly on the hill would desperate fans try to claim that
a #4 or #5 finish in the bcs was a "perfect" season. Here's a clue:Anything short of finishing #1 can never be
considered anything more than 2nd best.BYU completed it's quest
for perfection a decade before the Utes even cracked the non-bcs AP poll.
@Swoop"BYU completed it's quest for perfection a decade
before the Utes even cracked the non-bcs AP poll."You should
have informed Rosco before he had all those t-shirts printed!LOL
