This is amazing. How does the team that the DN picks to finish 6th in their
region and not qualify for the state tournament (and that has not done anything
of significance on the gridiron in a decade) warrant a 6 page write up when most
other 5A schools are getting 2 pages. I was irritated when Davis got 4 pages.
Brighton got 2 pages, Bingham got 3, and Northridge gets 6?Also, the
MVP you list for Northridge was from 2002. That isn't in the last 10 years
(2014-2002=12, 12>10).Not to take anything away from Northridge,
I hope they have a great season. But the coverage seems skewed here.
The coverage is fine. Schools who won't be on anyone's radar in the
coming weeks could use a bit more love pre-season. Schools like Bingham, and
Timpview are going to get near constant attention soon and it won't kill
them to not get a extra 3 page write up right now.
ExTBird,Don't disagree with your point. But if we are going to
go with your approach then let's get 6 page write ups for Weber, Hillcrest,
Copper Hills, and Westlake, too. As I said, the coverage for
Northridge seem skewed as most teams in 5A are getting 2 page write-ups.
Someone at the DN must have a nephew playing at Northridge.
Parry is a farce...you are funny. Who's keeping track? Obviously you. Nice
article...enjoying all the previews on Utah's high schools. Keep up the
Really...you're complaining about too much coverage for one school? I
thought the Northridge coach was insightful and provided great detail about his
team, and that's why the reporter submitted a longer article. It would be
nice if more coaches talked about individual players and discussed strategy.
From what I've seen over the years, Kudos to Coach Thompson and his
coaching staff for providing a great experience for these kids in Layton.
