It was in this hall that the hymn "The Seer, Joseph the Seer" was
introduced by a brass band. Always thought it would be a special treat for
visitors to hear a brass band play this hymn in the hall.
That would be a very nice building to visit and meet in/at for the quorum of 70
evangelists of The Church of Jesus Christ (WHQ: Monongahela, Pennsylvania).
Love this building. This is where people were called to serve missions - they
actually heard about the call as the audience did :) I find it interesting that
in Nauvoo there were no church buildings as we know them now for sacrament, etc.
They had a Temple and a 70's hall and a cultural hall but met in the groves
for large gatherings. Orson Hyde was given the job to buy thousands of yards of
canvas as the plan was to finally make an outdoor covered structure. But things
turned for the worse before it's use. So instead it ended up being the
canvas on covered wagons headed west.
