Region Championships - 2, not one. They Co-champs in 2012 and in 2013. This is
not the first time Felt has missed that fact.
This should be an awesome year for the Mustangs. Aug 28 at Bingham, Sep 12 vs
Lone Peak, Sep 19 at Jordan, Oct 3 vs American Fork and Oct 24 at Pleasant Grove
will be the five highlight games that will determine the season and the post
season direction.Look for Herriman to win Region 4 outright this
year and finally make it to Rice-Eccles with wins over West and Alta in the
playoffs.Still have to play the games...at West Jordan will be an
interesting away opener as the Jaguars have improved. A home game against
Hunter and an away game against rival Riverton will provide some incredibly
exciting games for the Mustangs.Herriman has 8 starters returning
from one of the best offenses last year. Herriman has 5 starters returning on
defense but has upgraded a few positions from last year.Herriman
should be in the mix for a state title this year. Herriman will be favored in
every game it plays this except for Bingham. Only 2 teams played better than
Herriman against Bingham last year...Valor Christian and Brighton. Look for
Herriman to play rough and tough in every game...including Bingham.
Herriman is going to be a great team but they will need to be able to throw to
win it all. Bingham is too well coached and tough to simply think you can line
up and run straight at them. They will be herrimans toughest test. If they can
be more balanced they have a shot to win it all.
adwight - I agree 100% with your assessment. Herriman did scrimmage Bingham 2
weeks ago and the result was a tie. Of course it doesn't mean a whole
bunch...but that will be an exciting game to watch.Herriman will
have a top 3 offensive line this year and it may be the best in Utah...only time
will tell. My hope is that Herriman will have the strength and skill on the
offensive line to enable them to run and pass on any team.Bingham
will be an awesome barometer for how the rest of the season will go.
Im not sure what you consider a tie, but Bingham scored 2 touchdowns and
herriman didn't even get close to scoring. They only got 1 first down that
I can remember and it was on a pass. I thought Herriman was supposed to have the
best line in the state this year. Looked like they have a lot of work to do.
Bingham seemed to control the line of scrimmage. Don't get me wrong that is
going to be a great game week 2, but that scrimmage was no tie.
Herriman vs Bingham scrimmage was scoreless for over an hour with Herriman
moving the ball better early. Herriman had three picks and a fumble recovery
and didn't turn it over. The last few minutes Bingham broke a run but
went backwards most the scrimmage. Binghams defense is better than there offense
for sure. Herriman has a much stronger and deeper offensive line.and an
incredible D line who shut out West Jordan. Not sure how many first downs West
Jordan got but it couldn't have been more than 3. Should be a great game
with Bingham and I wouldn't expect a ton of offense in that game. Both
teams will have to open up there offense with passes because running will be
