John Valentine is a very thoughtful and ethical public servant who has served this state extremely well in the Senate. He has tremendous experience working with budgets, appropriations, tax bills and understands the broad picture of how Utah gets its money and spends it. He has always bee a true professional, not a politician looking for partisan opportunities or cheap gimmicks.

We are lucky to be getting a man of his qualifications in this very important job.

He wold be a great Governor, if he ever decided he wanted to run for that office, or a great member of Congress.

A loss for Utah County. He has served well. I am really concerned about some of the names mentioned as a replacement.

It is good the Governor didn't nominate the other Senator that believes he knows all about taxes. Senator Valentine has given more service to Utah County ad to the State than a lot have due to his integrity and convictions.

Good luck with this important work.

Great, Wanna bet we get new alcohol tax?
The Zion Curtain was a ridiculous law that he couldn't even explain when asked, except to say he couldn't tell a bar from a restaurant. I used to have a lot of respect for the man, I once ran in to him on a Mount Timpanogos rescue team and was impressed, but the last few years it was lost.
