    Bad economies and money problems have always had a hand in separating families.

    18% seems really high for how many people would be willing to move permanently away from a spouse. That question should have been coupled with another about how invested they are into their marriage. Why can't the 18% take their spouse with them to their new job? I know a few people that travel a lot for their job and are away from home, but they would not permanently leave their spouse.

    Not long term leave, but these last several years haven't been good for folks. Executives want to promote staff who are flexible and willing take on responsibility even when it's outside our comfort zone. We're not living in the 1990's anymore so I think this needs to be considered too. Come on Joe?...

    I wouldn't leave my spouse for a better job but I would consider moving my family. I'm currently looking at an international opportunity but would never leave my family here for the job. I would, however, leave extended family for a better opportunity.
