    Give me a break!
You must not travel very much...
I've been all over the world.

    Donald [Donny] Clark Osmond

...and I'm not even a big fan.

Sports should include Merlin Olsen for Logan Utah. Pro Bowl 14 out of 15 years in NFL followed by long acting career.

The movie is past tense...forget Butch for Paul Newman is now only a shadow to half the population. Farnsworth & Browning are to be proud of, and Hinckley was a man of his times whose influence is still felt.

My vote for the most famous person born in Utah is someone who is born now, but not famous yet. They exist.

Not sure of the birthplace, but Kokopelli? I've seen his image all over the world.

airnaut, if you read the article, I think you'll find Donny listed right there next to his equally famous sister, Marie.

The answer to who is the most famous native Utahn depends on who is voting. In this case, a man in Ireland is, in essence, asking whether he has ever heard of anyone from Utah. Aside from any LDS Church leader (who would probably be unknown to non-Latter-day Saints outside Utah), my list of the top fifteen people someone living in another English speaking country MIGHT have heard of are the following:

    Ken Jennings,
    Roseanne Barr,
    David Archuleta,
    Butch Cassidy,
    Stephen Covey,
    Sam Walton,
    Steve Young,
    Donny & Marie Osmond,
    Jerry Buss,
    John Browning,
    Orson Scott Card,
    Frank Zamboni,
    Debbi Fields,
    John Willard Marriott
    Merlin Olsen

Good Job Triple Crown. I couldn't believe Merlin Olsen wasn't mentioned in the article.

If Donny Osmond is the most famous person to be born in Utah, we really need to re-think how we produce humans.

Your list is good and the people on it have lived in Utah at some time or another. However the Irish gentleman asked, “Who is the most famous person born in Utah?”

Ken Jennings was born in Seattle and moved to Utah to attend BYU.

David Archuletta was born in Miami and moved to Utah at the age of 6.

Sam Walton was born in Oklahoma and began his businesses in Arkansas. He was in Utah during the time he was stationed at Fort Douglas in the early 1940's.

Orson Scott Card was born in Richland Washington, lived in Utah for awhile and is currently living in Greensboro, NC.

Debbi Fields was born in Oakland, California and began her business in Palo Alto, CA. The business has been headquartered in Park City and Salt Lake. However, she moved to Memphis TN following her divorce and subsequent remarriage.
