The real question is "Does Gordon Hayward want to play for the Jazz?"
The "better fit" point is moot until Gordon, or his agent, answer that
@ rvalens2:I disagree. Any sensible player (and Hayward is sensible)
will be happy to play for whichever team is willing to pay such an enormous
amount of money. He might've been a bit more happy with a different team,
but will nonetheless be happy. Whether that is with the Jazz or the
Bobcats, it will be 5 times more annually than he has been making thus far in
his career and about 10 times more in a single year than the average wage earner
(like his dad) makes in their lifetime. Hayward is from a
blue-collar family, so appreciates the value of money. If he doesn't now
give his all to whichever team pays him, he will be cutting the throat of the
remainder of his career. His numbers would then drop and he will soon be
considered either a flash-in-the-pan or a has-been. His following contract would
drop off to a fraction of what this one is. Hayward is too smart to let that
It is way too much money for someone to play basketball but we the fans spoil
these kid. Jazz management, please stick the pin in the balloon, pay Hayward
the max and hope for the best.
@CopaceticI am sorry to say that I am not a mind reader and
can't repeat with your certainty what Hayward wants or will do. That's
why I say ask him to eliminate any doubt. The last thing the Jazz need is
another poison pill, Raja Bell situation. It's a simple question
that deserves an answer; especially when you consider the amount of money Gordon
will be paid.
right now...he'll do good in Charlotte...pressure is off him...and would be
the team's third option...his percentages would increase...and along with
MKG...they'll form a good defensive wing combo...in utah...he'll be
primary option...im not familiar with Snyder's style...but i hope Snyder
would figure something out
@rvalens2 I agree with you that we need to make sure Haywood wants to be here. I
heard that he told USA Today that he didn't want to be here. The last thing
we need is another situation like with raja where we pay him for not even being
with the team.
