Yah... Golf always finishes on Sunday... Ummm... Except the Memorial... And
the Utah State Am... and the US Open if it is tied... And any other tournament
if darkness becomes an issue. Hmmm. Maybe a Monday finish
wouldn't have been such a big deal after all. The only thing that would
have been necessary is the grounds crew which was there anyway and maybe 4
followers for the 2-some. Not a real big issue. In a place like Utah a Monday
finish should have been an option for the event anyway.
"because we've always done it" is about as poor reason as someone
The Millers received strong criticsm and deserved every bit of it. They left
hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours of work devoid of a true champion.
Todd's decision was self-serving grandstanding and nothing more. His
father's comments afterwards were even more ridiculous and hypocritical.
Todd should never have entered the event. He knows that and so does his father,
who makes a very good living working and playing golf on Sundays. I really am
tired of the religious people who want to follow the dictates of their religion
without sacrificing anything. By that I mean they want things to be done
differently so they can follow their religion and participate in events like
this golf tournament. You can't have it both ways. Religion requires
sacrifice, if you are unwilling to sacrifice things that are important to you
for your religious beliefs then don't - just leave everyone else out of it.
Pathetic time to withdraw from a tournament. Go play in a church tournament or
read the schedule before the tournament begins.
