    Okay, but will he lead out in correcting the many abuses to our vets or will he just be another puppet?

    Looks like a good choice, but now that Obama picked him, one has to wonder...

    I thought it was Karl Rove, an alumnus of the U of U.

    The announcement was on Monday. You waited until Wednesday afternoon to run the story? Why?

    Good luck he will need it. If he can get the national VA anywhere close to the Utah VA I will celebrate. An MBA may not be the best degree to have he may wish he had an MPA after he sees what the Civil Service Bureaucracy is like. Hopefully, he can at least file some schedule C political appointees and set a climate of service instead of self aggrandizement.
    Hopefully, he realizes that you can ask a Bureaucrat to give up his life but not his job. That cliché was first penned in Ancient China about the Mandarins.

    @ Swiss, as a former appointee, I can assure you that Schedule C's can be good, but they can also be bad. A savvy career person will work withe the appointees, but they can wait out the appointee and the know it. It all boils down to the quality of the career person. Some are good and some are not. As for the degree, an MBA vs an MPA won't be relevant. But you raise some interesting points which suggest some knowledge of how things work.

    @Esquire - Maybe just making sure the President didn't change his mind and decide to name Eric Holder as head of the VA.

    It's a stretch to say he's a U grad.
    He studied in a foxhole and never attended on campus.

    @VST
    Karl Rove speaks highly of his studies at Utah and his relationships with some of the professors. Those same professors say that while he was an excellent student his political career and the tactics he has used is not something they ever advocated.
    BO has an excellent track record of filling his administration with top notch talent so it's safe to assume he made another fine choice here.
