We shouldn't expect the Jazz to say anything less and sell the heck out of
the kid. It's a huge step up from Australian, youth, ward ball to the NBA.
The Jazz may have to do a better job of tanking next year if they want to move
up in the draft. Welcome to Sodium Pond Dante and may you bring us to the
I can't wait to see how he does in the summer league, hope he makes us
To say the least, this is a very bizarre pick. I don't think that enough
is known about this athlete one way or the other. It does appear to say that the
Jazz bigs are staying in town. I do like the pick of Rodney Hood.
This draft is a gamble, and I am happy with it. There were a lot of safe picks
they could have made, but this was a "swing for the fence" sort of pick.
I really hope this kid becomes our star.
Still won't win....even against my pitiful Lakers.
@JBWBizarre pick? I don't know if I would go that far. There
is no doubting his athletic abilities. those facts are known, and his abilities
are legit. the only question is how long it takes him to adapt to NBA play. He
absolutely dismantled players in this draft at the U-19 competition. I am not
saying he will be a superstar from day one. Kobe had two sweet airballs in the
playoffs against the jazz before becoming one of the most dominant players to
play the game. This kid has everything needed to become a star and adds much
needed athleticism. I don't think any of the power forwards available at 5
would be much of an upgrade from favors so this is by far the best situation we
could have asked for. I think despite the rumors there was slim to no chance of
trading up to get wiggins or parker. well done dennis!
Jazz get a Kobe, except he can't shoot. Really? Why the comparison then.
These negative comments do not help.......This kid was not just evaluated by the
Jazz and the majority of basketball experts had him going at 3 in the draft.....
Don't get so down because Exum can shoot right now. A lot of players this
young come into the NBA as marginal shooters, but they can improve with time.
The main thing right now is I think from what I've heard that he can make
other players better with his ability to drive and kick, and score in the paint.
He sounds like an Alec Burks player but with better ball handling skills. I
personally believe Burks is the best player on the team right now in spite of
Corbin and adding an improved model sounds pretty good to me. Also remember,
this is phase 1 of the off season. The Jazz have a ton of cap space to go out
and ad some free agents before next season. I predict the Jazz still don't
make the playoffs this year because the West is so good, but the Jazz are
getting better and will be rising up from the bottom.
There is never a guarantee no matter who would've been chosen. Not even
concerning Wiggins or Parker. And nearly whichever choice would've had
detractors. But this guy was universally considered a very high lottery pick by
literally all experts... of which none of those commenting here online can claim
to be. If you are a legitimate Jazz fan, spend some time and watch
some of the online highlight videos of this guy. He can flat-out play! Once you
get better informed and more knowledgeable of him, you will then become more
excited like the rest of us already are. He seems to be the real deal.
