I was amazed that this very important harmful condition was not more widely
discussed in the states that legalized MJ for use in the home and around
children with developing brains. Its not a later in life loss to
human brains, its a loss that begins and continues to deteriorate the brain from
the first time it is used. Loss of IQ is just one loss since MJ destroys brains
cells in every area of the brain including behaviors, decisions making,
learning, comprehension, and focus on task and needs of children. The brain
cells killed by the use of MJ is permanent and non repairable and unpredictable
at any given moment.Look at Obama and many of the legislators, who
were in Vietnam and college dorms and the laws and ridiculous no sense absurdity
they display. Marijuana is a very dangerous impediment to ones whole life, not
the end of life, whether its medical use or social use or an addiction. Its easy
to see who are loser users.I will not tolerate it in my home or
social life becasue I have been witness to its destructive use as friends and
neighbors lost everything including children, spouses, and friends.
I don't know that this is new, but it is good to repeat some things.
One's IQ does go down several points if you use marijuana in your teens.
Marijuana is not a safe drug for older folks either. The most common cause of
stroke in young people as it constricts cerebral vessels. Other brain changes
also occur that you don't want to get.
I guess in the future "Mile High" will still be a descriptive term in
Colorado...except for IQ.
But pot isn't harmful! There's no reason to not legalize it!
(Sarcasm)The future for Colorado liberals looks bright indeed!
Having worked with college students for over 25 years, I'm very skeptical
of those who insists Marijuana is harmless. Perhaps, like alcohol, its the
over-consumption of the substance that causes the real problem, but the damage
is there none-the-less.
While I believe marijuana is not good for everyone I do know some people who
smoked often during high school and still got straight A's. Also, they did
very well in their careers. Would not want to see it smoked or ingested around
children. However, entirely too many Americans are so addicted to sugar and
are extremely unhealthy. Both of these drugs can be harmful.
I watched it kill all my brothers brain cells. He's literally two
steps from the street. But, of course know one that supports its use state
by state will admit it.It's a way to escape reality.
If the majority of Americans actually do support the legalization of this
illicit drug, as stated in the article, then it doesn't appear Americans
can afford to drop their cummulative IQ level any further from the drop
it's already taken.Wake up, America!
So the moderators didn't publish my one word response. So here it is
Teen marijuana use can also effect a future born child.
So basically Pot makes you stupid? Yes I got that. That is a potential side
effect. But so does so many other things that are perfectly legal such as
tobacco and alcohol. I am not saying that it has zero side effects
but it does have less than the alternatives. For example using it medically for
chronic pain has far less side effects than heavy narcotic pharmaceuticals. I
think if you use it for truly medical purposes that it needs to be legal nation
wide. I also think that in some cases that it can be used to treat children and
teenagers with certain problems like epilepsy.Alcohol, tobacco and
legal medications overdoses kill 10s of thousands of people each year. There are
0 deaths related to a marijuana overdose.I think that it is a
fantastic medicine for many people that are in constant pain. So I think we need
to treat it like a medicine. Regulate and tax it like medicine. But it should be
legal to own and even to grow in your home for personal use.
Every drug, legal or illegal, if used long enough will have side effects. Some
don't even have to wait that long. Yes, marijuana isn't LSD, but to
think it won't effect one negatively is a pipe dream. The drug might have
some legitimate medical uses for people, but so do a lot of things that again
that are misused can be very harmful. The teen brain is growing and developing.
Marijuana is designed to react with the brain. These reactions are desirable
for many at that time. But let's get real. There will likely be a cost.
