Failure to approve the long-delayed Keystone pipleline will also hurt Utah
drivers at the pump.Drill, baby, drill.
For all our bluster about our involvement in that region, occasionally the real
reason comes out. It always contains the phrase 'at the pump'.
Good comment, Hutterite. I doubt that militants in Iraq are fighting out of
motivation to drive up the price of gas in Utah.
Despite oil prices of $100/barrel, world oil production has been almost flat
since 2005.All of the cheap, easy oil has all been discovered, and
the oil that is left is laden with hydrogen sulfide (Russia), in 7000 ft of
water (130 miles southeast of New Orleans), extracted out of tar sands
(Canada) or fracked out of solid rock. (U.S. Bakken deposits)Spare
capacity in world oil production is nearing zero, and any disruption in current
supply will cause petroleum prices to increase, maybe drastically. We
better get cooking on zero point energy generators, cold fusion, or "oil
from algae", because "drill baby drill" isn't going to solve
our energy needs!
Where was Obama with the Canadian pipeline deal? Now the Canadian oil
is going to China.
"Where was Obama with the Canadian pipeline deal? Now the
Canadian oil is going to China."How absurd. Do you even know the
purpose of Keystone? The entire purpose of Keystone is to get Canadian oil
access to the Gulf of Mexico for overseas shipping. The Keystone pipeline was
never intended to deliver oil to the US for keeping here.
Shhhhh, isrred, you'll confuse them with the truth. If they
can't blame Obama, who can they blame?
the keystone pipline will not supply oil to this country at all so read up and
know what you are talking about. it is for oil companies to sell oil from canada
on the open market as high as it can. there is more oil on the market than in
years to from fracking. so dont listen to oil proaganda on t.v.they are
profiteers, and mark up prices when ever they can. oil fron the middle east
takes months to affect the market but they will raise prices right away.
‘Militant movements in Iraq could cost Utah drivers at the pump'yeah, and incomptence in the WH is costing everyone everywhere else.
Once again, the price of wind from Spanish Fork and Milford? The same -- no
change, despite militant turmoil in Iraq. No need to send advisors or a
military force to protect it (as opposed to the worries of the oil refinery
getting into "terrorist" hands). With Harley putting out a
fast electric bike that goes from 0 to 60 in four seconds -- and yes, it sounds
like a refrigerator -- it is another sign of things to come for the world's
transportation sector. Tesla has just GIVEN its patents to anyone who wants it,
and almost all the major car companies are launching electric vehicles in the
next year or two. In the coming decade, we'll increasingly be
driving electric vehicles on cheap, price-stable electricity from renewable
sources. The days of fretting over terrorists taking over Mideast oil fields
and refineries to impact our 4th of July vacation plans can't come soon
