makes sense since there are only 7 dems in the state
Many more than 7.But it was probably fun to tick or the GOP for a bit.
It would be a great event for the city to host a major political party
convention, Republican or Democratic. If not 2016, let's try for 2020.
"Salt Lake City won't bid for 2016 Democratic National
Convention"Democrats are really going to be choked up about
Probably a good thing...we wouldn't want the coastal Democrats to see what
a good economy looks like. It might disrupt that whole "government will
take care of you" kick they're on.
Why doesn't the Deseret News consider attacks against liberal voters to be
worthy of their censorship? When a physician friend of mine (a female with
neat, long graying hair) spent the last election holding up a sign at a busy
corner encouraging everyone to vote, people swore at her, spit at her, threw
things at her, and yelled things like "Get a job, hippy." Really? This convention was a missed opportunity for the leaders in Salt Lake to
show their values to a wider audience. Are we supposed to believe
that Salt Lake was big enough to handle the Olympics, but too small and too
tired to host a political convention? This could have been the
perfect opportunity to help restore cooperation to American politics. Sad
This is disappointing. Hosting a convention for either party would be great
publicity for Salt Lake, and hosting the 2016 Democratic National Convention
could help bring a wider political audience to the city. Hopefully we can be
considered for future years.
I am shocked, totally shocked that we didn't get it.
Democratic Convention here? .....we just got rid of a bunch of libs, why would
we want them back? They can't name one accomplishment in 100
years.........except growing the govt bigger, adding more to the welfare rolls
than ever, killing jobs and the economy and raising taxes!
