You can operate your business however you want. You've no right to expect
your employees to have the same faith, nor to treat them as if they do. Anyway,
we really need a single payer health care system that takes employers and their
judgements out of the picture entirely. Better for employer and employee alike.
Well said, Hutterite.I would have more respect for the owners of
Hobby Lobby if they extended their rejection of abortion to their investment
Since Socialism works so well everywhere else, there is no need for individuals
to have any rights....
Hobby Lobby is not out to keep anyone from having whatever medical care they
want. They are not forcing their beliefs on anyone. They simply do not want to
be involved in paying for some medical treatments that are opposed to their
religious beliefs. A large portion of the population agrees with their
religious views and I think their legal objections are very reasonable. These treatments are available to their employees whether Hobby Lobby pays for
them or not. Why the company should be forced to pay for them is beyond me. Is
this what we are calling a free country now; a country where the government
forces you to pay for something for someone else that is a violation of your
religious beliefs? Is this what we are calling liberty?I ask you to
consider yourself in their position. Perhaps you don't agree with them on
this issue, but we all have our moral codes. If the government was compelling
you to breach your beliefs simply to make things more convenient for another,
would you not fight it? Pay attention to this issue. Right now it is Hobby
Lobby. Some day it may be your turn.
Terminating life is a serious matter, and definitely falls within the purview of
individual morality. Would it be a subject of conscience to aid and abet an
activity that kills?Suppose a government enacted a 1% tax on
businesses to finance sacrificing children on an altar. Would business owners
be motivated to extract themselves from this process? To the Green
family, concerning these 4 specific drugs and devices they consider
abortificants, paying for these is very much the same thing.I fully
@Kindred of Mesa, Az- Well said! I completely agree!
