Whomever the Jazz pick it will be a mistake.
I'm not sure what this guy has over Quin Snyder. The article yesterday
about Snyder has me convinced that he should be the front-runner for the head
coaching job. However, Messina, the 12 time Europian champion who
has won over 75% of his games as a head coach, should also be a top contender
with his proven record and experience as a head coach and also recognized as a
defensive guru. I haven't been able to find out what Griffen
has over either of the aforementioned coaches.
I have great respect and admiration for most of those being considered to coach
the Jazz. Most of those mentioned have very good credentials and the ability to
successfully coach the Jazz. I have a hard time understanding the pessimism and
negativity of anyone who would proclaim that "Whomever the Jazz pick it will
be a mistake." Such a mindset nearly always leads to failure.
I totally agree with artinnature. One can immediately tell who are the real Jazz
fans and who just like to condemn them or couch coach. We as fans need to stand
behind them and provide all the encouragement they require. I realize they make
the big bucks, but they are human beings nonetheless and are not in there to
fail. I trust the powers are doing their homework and will select a capable
individual who will want to win as much as they do (and we as well). Hope it
At this point, i would be happy with either Snyder or Griffin. Snyder has a lot
of experience in coaching and has been successful in places and sounds hungry to
return and do well and Griffin had glowing endorsements from Lucas III and Ryen
Russilo on ESPN. The young guys will ACTUALLY PLAY together with the younger
coach eager to prove himself. I just want this to get done hopefully in the next
week or so
No final decision has been made yet. There is no evidence that the Jazz favor
Griffin over Snyder, or Messina, or anyone else for that matter. I, too, have to
wonder about anyone that assumes any hire will be a mistake. I don't so
much wonder why they are so negative, but why, given that they hate the Jazz,
they are reading, much less commenting on articles about the team.
One of the reasons that Jazz fans can be cynical is that Larry H Miller is no
longer with us. He seemed to know basketball pretty well. But the kids have
taken over and they are letting Lindsey make all of the personnel
decisions...which shouldn't be too bad, except that in my opinion, Mr.
Lindsey is not a very good GM. I also believe that Larry's kids are trying
to save as much money as possible, so they are going to get a coach on the
cheap. That's why you don't hear of a George Karl or any other top
names being floated around. So, with that kind of info out there, it
is very easy to suggest that whomever they end up hiring for the head coaching
position, will be a mistake. Bingo, bango, bongo! Now, go out and get Karl,
Hollins or Porter and even I will be happy. But I am a patient man. Take as long
as you need to Lindsey. PS...Boylen isn't a big name either! Go
@artinnatureWhomever the Jazz pick will be a mistake.
