I watched Maleficent with two 7 year-old girls and was admittedly worried beforehand that it would be too dark and scary for them. After watching the movie I couldn't disagree more on the comment that this movie is too dark for children. My girls get frightened way too easily in some movies that I don't think are that bad, and neither of the girls were ever even remotely frightened during this movie. They both loved the movie as well. Take your kids, they will love it. Perhaps kids younger than 4 may not enjoy the story and be scared during some of the scenes, but I don't think this movie was ever intended for an audience that young anyhow.

I just came home from the movie with my wife and 5 daughters. They all loved it. Good Story and good message. We can overcome dark times and love will prevail.
