Gov. Gary Herbert said he doesn't believe the administration will force any
new national monument designations on Utah. The trouble is the word
your looking for is "Blessed" not forced.
Never trust Obama, or his promises to do, or not to do anything. If
it is politically expedient to maitaing Democrats in power, he will do it.
Regardless of any promises, laws or agreements.
The fact that they are considered "treasured landscapes" is the only
reason we need for protecting them. It's a pity that Utah's GOP
delegation can't see beauty in anything but dollar signs.
Keeping land out of the hands of local destructive government greed is paramount
to the state of Utah. Herbert keeps avoiding the facts and dangers and
sustainability of oil extraction by hydraulic mining methods in the 3rd direst
state in the nation. As desert and barren Nevada is we have less annual rainfall
that Nevada yet Herbert thinks we have so much water we can waste it and remove
it from the environment without any consequences. Herbert has no foresight, he
is blinded by greed and filling he pockets with money. The only way
we can hold Herbert at bay and stop resource disaster in Utah is shut him down
with different land designations. Herbert is making plans for Utah that are not
sustainable or doable or in his godly power to make it happen. Herbert the
maniac destroy must be stopped or the people will have to move out of Utah,
leaving no one to frack the oil.Utah is already high risk for
sustainable population and his madness is securing the doom of Utah with debt
for the next 100 years, a legacy of death of a society.
A enlarged Canyonlands, Cedar Mesa, and the San Rafael swell are but three that
could host elevated status.
