Most sincere condolences to the family on the loss of their son. Prayers for
the Elder from Utah that he makes a speedy recovery. Serving in the Lord's
Vineyard was never promised to be easy, and those who serve and return with
honor, many blessing will be with them. Those who serve and suffer the ultimate
sacrifice in the Lord's Service will be blessed to pass the Angels in
Heaven. God Bless to all Missionaries.
"And should we die, before our Journey's through, Happy Day! All is
well!" This young El Salvadoran Elder has a "ticket straight to the
Celestial Kingdom", as my former missionary sons would say. We wish all
missionary mother's peace at this time, especially the mother of the Elder
who passed away.
Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the
resurrection—Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the
spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the
spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who
gave them life. And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who
are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise,
a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles
and from all care, and sorrow. Alma 40:10-11Via con Dios, Elder

This is the type of story you never like to read about. To say that it is those
left behind who suffer; while those who pass on are in a good state does little
to console. May both families have an extra portion of the Spirit to their
That is the only comment from the church?
Sincere sympathies to both families and their ward members. Losing a child is
not easy any time, even when he is serving the Lord.
To: General...personal feelings and thoughts will be shared with the families of
these wonderful missionaries privately. That was a public acknowledgement of the
tragedy. Our prayers will be with these two families.
I won't speculate that the missionary has a ticket straight to the
Celestial kingdom. I'm going to assume that if he was a faithful missionary
and prepared for the mission then he's in a good candidate for the kingdom.
But, the judging will be left to the real judge of us all. After all none of
us know his full life story. The same mistake is made when people
think if their kids are sealed to them, then nothing will prevent their kids (no
matter how evil) from entering the Celestial kingdom. That is false teaching to
say if I live righteously then my child that has sin will be saved. The promise
is, if the child goes through the repentance process, then the sealing will
preserve the family unit.I'm sure if a child inherits a
different kingdom of glory the parents can still visit their child, but, that
will be the end of his/her progression. Please correct me if I'm
this is so terribly sad. These incredibly great young men are serving the Lord
and helping so many. God bless the family of this missionary.
