WOW, that is an amazing story! I wished it were longer just to enjoy more, but
it is still a powerful testimony of what can happen when ears are opened to the
gospel message. Thank you to the writer, the sister missionaries and the
ancestor who started it all. I am glad that Wetumpka welcomed the missionary
back then, and the sisters now. Thank you to great examples.
My son is the first in his dad's family to serve a mission (convert
family), and the very first area he was sent to was the town where one line of
his ancestors lived during the 1800s. All of the temple work has already been
done, but he got to walk the streets where they lived and took many photos of
their headstones. I wonder if sometimes those on the other side have
a say in where their descendants serve, and if they want one of their family to
have the opportunity to share the gospel in areas that were important to them
A beautiful part of Alabama. Our daughter, son in law and their children live
just up the road in Alexander City, Alabama where a branch of the Church serves
Wonderful story. Who ever would have imagined that a distant relative would
have served in the mission as you. It must be a wonderful experience. Thanks
for sharing this beautiful story.
Sisters, go forth in faith, having the burning testimony of the restored gospel
in your hearts, & run from door to door sharing the restoration with all who
will listen. Carry with you good quality copies of this newspaper article to
give to all those that have the wisdom to listen to you, some will be pricked in
their hearts to find out more about their family history. Know that you are
true servants of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ, & as such, angels
watch over you, to protect & bear you up. Missionary service flies by as
you exhaust all your strength daily, as you pound the proverbial pavement in the
daytime & as you wrestle in prayer & weary the Lord through your prayers
of faith for all your investigators. You are important, you matter, as do all
the other 85,000 servants: Here are a few of my teaching tips from my mission.
1) Teach to understand. 2) Teach by the Spirit. 3) Bear mighty testimony
"in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ" @ every visit. 4) Ask direct
"Will you... ?'s". Help those you teach progress forward with true
love in your hearts @ all times & in all places & with all people. 5)
HOF&RTS. 6) Follow up timely.
Always a pleasure to read of the Restored Gospel going forth.A real
pleasure to read how nicely the reporters of yesterday and today wrote.Always a pleasure to see the smiling faces of the sister missionaries!
