The huge elephant in the room totally ignored by this story is the unasked, and
unanswered question:Are these figures for children of people who are
legal immigrants, or are the children of illegal immigrants also included?Any child born in the U.S. is automatically a U.S. citizen, and there is
reportedly a huge number of children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrant
parents who came here specifically for that reason. Then, they can rely on the
old "don't break up my family" excuse trying to avoid deportation
and being made to obey the law.Legal immigrants and their children
are welcome. Illegal immigrants are not welcome because we expect everyone in
this country to abide by the rule of law, and that is "pro-family" in
the long run for everyone. If we will not enforce our borders, then why should
anyone here legally bother to obey any other laws?
Typically, children are taught the values of their parents. Illegal aliens
clearly have a basic disrespect for the rule of law and for other important
principles upon which the country was founded. In 18 short years, most of these
children then become, essentially, more or less, proxy voters for their
illegal-alien parents. As a result, America begins to move downward
toward the level of the countries from whence these illegal-aliens came. We
have witnessed the progression of this process in California. Also:
part of the reason Americans are not having as many children today is that they
are saddled with the tax burden which pays the billions in welfare, education
and other benefits that go to the numerous children of these illegal aliens.
Politically correct or not, that is the fact of it.
By immigrants its safe to say they are all illegl aliens as are their offspring.
Its a warning and red flag that its time to stop issuing citiznes ship and SSN
to children of foreign nationals so they can be repatriated to their home
countries of parents birth so its legal for them to take with them on their
passports. It is criminal that the US is destroying the lives of
families by not letting parents take their children conceived in their home land
with them when they leave this country. We need some immigration enforcment
changes in the 14th amendment laws to make sure children born in the wrong
country are not given citizenship in the US. Include a document of birth with
existing pass ports or undocumented foreign nationals to include natural
children remains citizens of parents country.
This report is NOT news. Roy Beck at Numbers USA has been telling us this for
decades. In fact, ALL the growth in the USA since the 1970s has been the
result of immigrants and their offspring. This of course means that all the
congestion, pollution, new classroom space, demand for landfill, new energy
consumption, need for police/jails/prisons...comes from immigration. And
did we, the people, vote for these high levels of immigration? Or did the elites
decide for us?
A new award-winning worldwide book/ebook by ex-Salt Laker Lance Johnson that
helps explain the role, struggles, and contributions of immigrants and
minorities is "What Foreigners Need To Know About America From A To Z: How
to Understand Crazy American Culture, People, Government, Business, Language and
More.” It paints a revealing picture of America for anyone who will
benefit from a better understanding. Endorsed by ambassadors, educators, and
editors, it also informs those who want to learn more about the last remaining
superpower and how we compare to other nations on many issues. As the
book points out, immigrants and minorities are a major force in America.
Immigrants and the children they bear account for 60 percent of our
nation’s population growth and own 11 percent of US businesses and are 60
percent more likely to start a new business than native-born Americans.
More importantly, they come to improve their lives and create a foundation of
success for their children to build upon, as did the author’s grandparents
when they landed at Ellis Island in 1899 on a cramped cattle car-like sailing
from Europe to the Land of Opportunity and then on to Zion.
My2CentsIllegal-alien parents returning to their home countries are
free to take their American-born children with them. Mexico for example duly
recognizes these children as dual citizens. But many illegal aliens
-- and their unscrupulous American facilitors -- are deliberately giving a false
impression that they cannot do so and are falsely claiming that if America
deports, it will "break up families." It is a double falsehood, since
even if deportation were to break up families, this would be the parents'
fault -- not America's fault. The very basis of the Christian Gospel also
applies here: Equality at the law, consequences affixed to a given law, personal
choice of whether to comply with the law, accountability for willful choices
made, and then the reaping of consequences upon oneself and upon one's own
children.LGJHERE"...they come to improve their lives
and create a foundation of success for their children to build upon..."If they teach their children that dishonesty, illegality, and disrespect
for one's neighbor is the way to get things in life, then no, they are not
creating such a foundation. Bank robbers and shoplifters too are only trying to
"improve their lives."
Six letters printed, and I haven't seen such hostility since..since..well,
since the Mormons were booted out of the Midwest. For those who
harp on "well, legal immigrants are OK, but the illegals can go back to
their country and get in line"--do you realize that, for most countries,
there is no line? Even a skilled worker in Mexico cannot get an immigration
visa--it's not like there are only X visas of that type issued each year,
there are NONE. But people can get around the law if they claim
religious persecution. I wonder how many Utahns would object to an LDS convert
in whatever country getting a visa here if they provided evidence that they were
in danger because of their religion.
