Please Heavenly Father, don't let Satan win this one! I have been praying
for these girls since I heard of this. Where is the Nigerian government? Where
is the United States War on Terror? If this is not a terrorist, I don't
know what is! The Nigerian government needs to care about these girls and save
Brittany Plothow's concern is admirable, but something that's on the
news every night, that dozens of celebrities are tweeting about, that has dozens
of other events being organised at the same time isn't as much in need of a
getting the word out campaign as things that don't make the news, become
celebrity fads, etc.
This is a nice gesture to a horrible incident, but will have no real
consequences. Do you really think Islamist Extremist really care what a girl in
Utah thinks? Could they even find Utah on a map? These are nice feel good
intentions, with no real world results.
Nigeria has a population of nearly 175,000,000. One of four Africans are
Nigerians. About half are Muslim and live in the northern half. Neighboring
nations such as Ghana also have strife in the northern Muslim areas. This goes
across Africa all the way to Indonesia. The Boko Haran is a terrorist group
perhaps trained by Al quaeda. Sharia law is practiced in much of northern
Nigeria. Women are not allowed to go to school. If it were me I would arm the
populace and teachers. I hope the activity suggested helps though I am
pessimistic. This is all part of a world wide Jihad and the end is not in
Cardboard signs and Facebook likes don't fight terrorism or wars. And
Americans have no stomach for any combat operations that have a body count or a
protracted time schedule. The effort would be better spent at home on someone
that will benefit from it.
Although I appreciate the efforts expressed by the Utah women, they seem to be
more symbolism than substance. In order to free the girls from Moslem
slavery, we need to more directly confront Moslem extremists on all fronts. The
recent actions of Obama and Hillary Clinton have been primarily of appeasement,
and we need to confront them and remove Obama from office. Obama and
Clinton's backing down regarding the Benghazi incident simply added fuel to
enable such activities as enslaving girls. Moslems have been enslaving people
for many centuries. Islam is not a religion of peace; it is a religion of
domination, torture, and cruelty.I am quite hopeful that a rescue
mission will free the girls, and not result in their further harm. However, we
still need to realize that confrontation to Islamists is more effective than
I applaud interest in promoting awareness of this tragedy. We should get
involved in protecting the innocent. My question is whether you are helping the
innocent or providing promotion for terrorism. Terrorists workin plain sight.
They flaunt their identity. They intentionally draw attention to themselves.
They commit crimes without impunity. So unless your public awareness campaign
gets these poor girls rescued, mostly you are providing free advertising to
terrorists. It is one thing to feel action is needed and another to
think that meaningful action will actually take place. Our president didn't
attempt to save our own citizens in Bengazi. If our government is so little
attached to its citizens, why do you think a 3rd world country government who
values women less than cockroaches wants to rescue these girls? Shame on
government leaders who stand by and watch innocents killed. But, if they
haven't reacted in the last month, nothing is likely to happen now other
than collecting the dead and damaged young ladies. Heaven knows, the terrorists
are having a field day. So sad that we as a people have chosen leaders who
prefer rhetoric over action.
It is great to be concerned about children where ever they are abused. We have
a worse problem right here in the US so far as abused children are concerned so
I believe here is the place to start. The problem of terrorists in the world
will only be solved when the terrorist organizations are eliminated and that
will not happen very quickly as we are only one country and we need the support
of all countries. A demonstration would be better served if it concentrated on
the problems right here at home.
This is a perfect illustration of the bubble we live in here in the USA. Our
problems here often get solved easily by people marching around with signs,
YouTube videos, boycotts, or Facebook likes. In the real world, these
murderers laugh at us. The only thing that deters real monsters are bombs and
guns. Until we finally understand this, this kind of evil will only grow.
The only thing that will stop this kind of continued aggression is to hunt these
people down and kill them. No negotiating. No political correct concern for
offending others. No hashtags. Hunt them down and kill every last one of them.
Remember what happened when the Laminates extinguished the Gadiantons, and the
Nephites tried to negotiate with them?
Demonstrations will accomplish nothing. We will have to dispatch the people
responsible for doing this.
Bigger and better results often start with smaller acts such as what Brittany
Plothow is doing. You never know until you try. At least she is trying to get
something going. Agreed that there is plenty of abuse in the
USA, but there is plenty of room to care about anyone regardless of country,
race or religion. Feel free to start your own demonstration for your cause in
the USA as Brittany is doing for Nigeria. Eventually it may add up to something
that brings results. One thing for sure, doing nothing always results in
So basically we are all tweeting and making signs to pressure someone to send
the marines/seals?Because Boko Haraam probably doesn't care. At
Of all the stupid things we spend money on in the United States and one simple
thing that is wrong in the world and we send in "negotiators" at least
one month late. According to the wonders of the internet we gave Nigeria $625
MILLION in aid. I am quite certain we could take a million back and conduct
one heck of a rescue mission and send these terrorists in search of a new cause
- assuming any were left. The politicians should ask the military
and the CIA how long would it take to put together a reasonable operation - if
they say a day - we tell the terrorists and the Nigerian government (which I
understand is very corrupt) that they have a day and then we take care of it
ourselves - couldn't we get better results. This isn't a
question of politics, money, it is who has the ability to do the right and just
It is disheartening to hear the story if this school girls, and the situation
that our fellow country men face due to this insurgency. All though the Nigerian
Association in Utah also are planning a match of solidarity for the abducted
girls,we fully support you initiation and it goes to show people care about
humanity around the world.TheNigerian Association holds its monthly
meeting on the 17th and as the PRO I have put an agenda to carry our plight to
the Utah Governors office.God bless you for your efforts and concern.M.Atta PRO NAU
I believe that another effort started by an LDS woman has promise--fasting for
the girls this Sunday, with their individual names selected by each person.
Google "bring back our girls day of fasting and prayer."
The Boko Haram have faith in Allah that they are doing the work of Allah. The
Koran, in at least two places, justifies the taking of slave girls as booty in
the war against non-Moslems. "If you fear that you will not act
justly towards the orphans, marry such women as seem good to you, two, three,
four; but if you fear you will not be equitable, then only one, or what your
right hands own; so it is likelier you will not be partial. (Qur’an
4:3)"And:"And also prohibited to you are all married women
except those your right hands possess. (Qur’an 4:24)"The
mainstream Muslim commentary Tafsir al-Jalalayn explains that 4:3 tells Muslims
to “marry only one, or, restrict yourself to what your right hands own, of
slavegirls, since these do not have the same rights as wives.”
I wonder where Boko Haraam got their weapons?
There is no plight. It is a ruse to garner AID from the USA.It
would take about 6 busses to transport then all. Where are those busses? It really is not any of our business what others do. Perhaps focus on
the human trafficking plight here in the USA first? THEN after it is fixed
perhaps worry about others problems?Too bad they won't allow me
my constitutional right to freedom of speech.
