Only one player picked in the 4th round from a mighty Pac school??? what???
Chris B what spin you gonna put on this?
Happy for all utes and aggies selected, you represent our state well and we hope
you stay healthy and have good careers. The ute pipeline to the NFL continues.
Congrats McGill. Definitely a prototype of what NFL teams are looking at in a CB
nowadays. Big, physical, with avg speed...basically Richard Sherman (5th round
Congrats to a dude that's grown up and overcome a lot to get to where he
is. His injury record no doubt scared some teams away, but this should hopefully
be a good landing spot to go in and contribute early on a rebuilding defense.
Congrats, Keith, and good luck!
Finally we get a Ute drafted! It's about time! Don't they know
we're part of the PAC12?
I can't stand the Raiders, but congrats to Keith. I feel bad for Trevor
that he hasn't been selected yet. He knew that has age would be an issue.
Hopefully he can become a contributor. It's one thing to be drafted, but
it's another thing to actually be an impact player. Hopefully he can join
the ranks of Star, Weddle, Steve Smith, Alex Smith, and Bobby Wagner. All of
these players have actually impacted their teams and have helped put guide their
teams to the playoffs.
Congratulations to Keith. I'm shocked that Trevor Reilly is
still on the board. He was the reason the Utes lead the Pac-12 (and the nation)
in sacks. There are a number of Utes I expect to see picked up in the late
rounds but Reilly should have gone much sooner.
I'm glad that McGill got drafted, I just wish it had been anywhere other
@jarka-rus "Only one player picked in the 4th round from a mighty Pac
school??? what???"Perhaps you didn't realize that Utah had
double the number of players drafted than BYU and that the PAC 12 had the third
most players drafted beating out conferences such as the Big 10, Big 12 and WCC.
Sure says a lot when Utah's best player last season(Reilly)almost
doesn't get drafted. The overall talent is much lower than the past
(2004,2008). Bad coaching, bad recruiting go hand in hand as it's the same
goofs making the decisions.Gonna be hard to turn this sinking ship around. Meyer
came to town and built quite a team in 2 short years, Whit has slowly but surely
sunk it. Time for Whit to go, even his "trademark" defensive players are
a non factor anymore.
Congratulations and good luck to both of these young men. Now the work begins.
UU"Perhaps you didn't realize that Utah had double the
number of players drafted than BYU..."ONE 40th pick is better
than a 116th and a 223rd pick combined - ask ANY NFL team which they'd
rather have, 8th pick in the 2nd round, or a late 4th and 7th round pick. The Lions traded more than that just to move up a few places so they
could draft KVN.btw, you're still living with the delusion that
the accomplishments of the big boys of the PAC 12 somehow make bottom dwelling
Congratulations to the 5 players drafted. Best of luck to them, I would have
anticipated a few more Cougs being drafted. Hope all of them do well.
Congrats the Ute players that were drafted and those that also signed as free
agents. It's a shame a couple of Y fans feel the need to come
on this article and talk trash. Same for U fans that say anything negative
about Van Noy or the other Y players. These kids are out of college athletics
and hope they all succeed at the next level in their life. Funny but these are
the same fans that talked up a victory over Texas. How many players did that
storied program have drafted this year? Following your logic, that win would
look pretty hollow.
SportsFan, "you're still living with the delusion that the
accomplishments of the big boys of the PAC 12 somehow make bottom dwelling Utah
better."No, I'm still living with the reality that Utah
consistently puts more players in the draft than BYU, so any Y fan smack talks
around the NFL draft requires a sanity check.
