We love you KVN and wish you the very best! We will be watching and waiting.Go Cougars!
Keeping fingers crossed for you KVN. Tomorrow will be a well-deserving big day
KVN was a good player who racked up some nice stats, but they were against
mostly WAC competition. Additionally, he didn't show up for the big games.
He went 0-4 in what he termed his "Super Bowl"
Big 12:Here's my fantasy. I'd like to give you that ball
at the 20 yard line, put Van Noy at the goal line, and let him try to catch you
before you scored at the other end. Bet you'd do a personal best in the 40,
if you got that far.
I am hoping that he comes here to help the San Diego Chargers.
By my calcs, KVN had 4.7 tackles per game during his BYU career, and 6.25 per
game against Utah (including the 54-10 game where he had none). Last year his
highest tackle numbers came against Texas (8), Utah (10), Wisconsin (8), and
Washington (7). Also, he outscored both offenses in the 2011 Poinsettia Bowl.
Yup, didn't show up for the big games.
Lew Scannon,Here is my fantasy: Utah goes on multiple quests, beats
an SEC powerhouse in a bowl game, earns a prestigious conference invite, and
wins the Rose bowl after winning the pac 12 title. Meanwhile, byu is not
invited to any power conference and the power conferences separate themselves
even more from the rest of college football essentially forming a new division I
with everyone else being division II.Don't blink - much of it
has already happened and the rest will within a few more years
Nice to see Utah fans' obsession with BYU is still as vibrant as ever.
Please keep commenting, Utes.
Van Noy will be a terrific and long term pro. Great to see him find success. As
for Big 12 call yet? Yes they did, we chose the freedom of independence and ESPN
over them. Broken even in the PAC 12 yet?
Kyle Van Noy will be in the NFL but he will not be a starter, at least for very
long. He is a situational player and I doubt he will be picked higher than the
3rd round. He is soft on the run and is not the pass rusher he is made out to
be, especially against a decent tackle. He did most of his damage on plays
where it was either broken or he was stunting. One on one against the run or
pass he is not that great. Can he get better? Yes, of course as he is a good
athlete. I'd take Trevor over KVN any day of the week. Go
Bradley,The Big 12 called? Oh that's right, they did call. And
after getting to know byu a little better they decided they would rather invite
TCU and then remain at 10 teams and call themselves the big 12 because there
aren't any teams worthy of becoming #11 and #12You're
right though, they did call. As you choosing independence over
them?LOL.Holmoe has made it clear many times: there was
NEVER a big 12 invitation.
Wookie,It is uncanny that every one of the professionals that scout
NFL talent for a living missed all of the observations that you have made. How
is it that you are stuck making comments on this message board, and have not
been offered a position by an NFL team to head up their scouting department.
Unless of course you don't really know what you're talking about, and
are just making stuff up to make you and the fans from the hill feel better. I
wonder who is wrong - you, or all of the real NFL scouts? Boy, I just can't
I have never made a negative post about KVN. He was a great college player with
a lot of talent. Suspect he will go in 2nd to 4th round and get some playing
time in the pros. Not sure if his skill set will translate to the NFL level but
no question he has the 'heart' to be a regular NFL player
IRS Agent. Good point, maybe I should apply and see how my
prediction turns out. Go watch game film against decent teams and decent
tackles and you'll see what I am talking about. He looked amazing against
mediocre or average teams and disappeared against elite and good teams. This is
the problem with BYUs scheduling, their athletes will not be tested game in and
game out like teams that play in the power conferences are subjected to weekly.
I continue to be amazed at some comments made by Utah fans. When will you get
over your conference invite? It was a great opportunity for the U but they
haven't done anything in any sport since then. Being a member of a
prestigious conference only matters if you have the talent to compete and take
advantage of that membership which they have not.
Best wishes, KVN, you've earned it.
