    The loss of that little girl was a tragedy, but kids are kids. They don't always watch for traffic. Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen, even when everyone is doing the best that they can.

    My niece was killed many years ago when she slipped on a snow bank and fell under the bus. The bus driver didn't see her fall.

    People who ignore school zone speed limits, who ignore school bus signals, or who don't watch for children exiting a bus should have their licenses revoked. A ticket is not sufficient. They should lose their driving privileges until they've completed a course. Perhaps having a police officer in an unmarked vehicle follow a bus would be a practical way to quickly "educate" offending drivers.
