Sign up or prison is not much of an option. When coercion, threats, fines, or
jail forces people to sign up is not an accolade. If this was such a good deal
then why didn't the rest of the 3 million people in Utah sign up? Also at
risk is a thereat to loss of welfare and food stamps, no, the people of the
United States should be very angry and opposed to this criminal offense. The numbers attest to the hate for this plan and it must be repealed in
its entirety and will never work. No one has any insurance, and never will under
the ACA. This insurance does not guarantee health care, it just guarantees you
won't go to jail for not applying for this scam. Getting health care will
be another challenge to this lie.
See, I told you that darn Obamacare was from Satan!
Let's see...The bars close at 2...You can bet that
none of the 85,000 are Republicans...Right?
I wonder how many are Republicans?
1. As a self-employed person who, because of a medical condition, could not
purchase insurance in the market place, I am grateful to finally have health
insurance coverage through the ACA. 2. I expect that the 85,000
people who purchased insurance under the ACA did so because the needed
insurance, not because they are of one political persuasion or another.3. I don't think that the ACA is a cure-all for our State's or our
Country's health care problems and needs, but at least people are covered
who could not be insured previously. Hopefully the ACA will be changed over time
become a better way to provide health care coverage for everyone.4.
I am a Republican.
For those who don't know what the actual penalties under the ACA are, here
you go:From the government's HealthCare website: If you
cannot afford health insurance but choose not to buy it, you must pay a fee
known as the Individual Shared Responsibility Payment. From the
eHealth website: If you don’t qualify for an exemption to the
ACA's mandate to purchase qualifying health coverage, then you will be
subject to a tax penalty. The penalty is phased-in over a three year period. In 2014, the penalty will be the greater of 1.0% of taxable income or
$95 per adult and $47.50 per child (up to $285 per family). In 2015,
the penalty will be the greater of 2.0% of taxable income or $325 per adult and
$162.50 per child (up to $975 per family). In 2016, the penalty will
be the greater of 2.5% of taxable income or $695 per adult and $347.50 per child
(up to $2,085 per family). After 2016, the penalty will be increased
annually by the increase to the cost-of-living.
"Sign up or prison is not much of an option. When coercion, threats, fines,
or jail forces people to sign up is not an accolade." That is
repeating an outright lie that has been propagated by conservative radio
pundits. It is NOT true. Simply NOT true.
@one old manIt is true. If you don't pay your taxes, they can
put a lien on your property. Continue to avoid taxes and you can have jail
time. Now how about telling us how many of those 85,000 people
actually paid their premiums."If you like your insurance, you
can keep it". Right B.O. The worst filthy liar that has ever been in the
Post Game, glad you can get insurance - too bad about the millions who lost
their plans or now have to pay more for plans with features they do not want.
But hey, as long as you got yours....old man, what happens if
you do not pay the fine? do you know for sure no prison is involved? It could
very well be true.So much about Obamacare has been a lie it seems
very incongruous for its defenders to accuse anyone else of lying.
How many of those 85,000 had insurance before their policy was cancelled and
were forced to use Obamacare? Just because you sign up doesn't mean you
have paid your premium. Why are there still 400,000 uninsured in Utah? I
thought we were radically redesigning the system and forcing this on the
population so there would be no more uninsured.
"...The worst filthy liar that has ever been in the white house...".No.There were many reasons Mitt Romney (who has been in the
White House) was not elected or appointed by a Republican dominated SCOTUS.One of those reasons was the constant prevarication, dissembling,
etch-a-sketching etc..I won't stoop to the same level of
thoughtful civil dialogue as someone who had their thoughtful civil dialogue
somehow approved by the DN Moderator. But if the shoe fits...BTW...When a Republican is elected POTUS, DN Moderators will
approve similar thoughtful civil dialogue as that which came from Cache.Right?
