None of this is new - 20 years ago my mom broke it off with a the man she was
dating because their relationship had reached the place for that decision - they
didn't want to violate their religious values by living together, but both
of them were on several very expensive medications and, while their incomes
individually allowed them both to qualify for help paying for their
prescriptions, their combined incomes would have forced them to pay for the
majority of their pills out of pocket.They decided to go their
separate ways instead.A few years later, my mom stated she regretted
the decision and if presented with the choice again would choose
cohabitation.But, hey, you know - as long as no one is taking
advantage of taxpayers and living on the government dole (greedy lazy welfare
retirees anyway!) it's all good...
Everything should be done to encourage marriage.
Perhaps if they can't have children they should not be getting married.
(tongue in cheek) It is sad to think that money should keep people from this
greatest of institutions.
