With rumors Jabari Parker is strongly considering staying in school, drafting in
the top 4 is more important than ever. Still need to lose to TWolves and hope
Jazz don't need Parker, they need someone who will play defense. Favors
tries but is too short too guard bigger players. Hayward, Burke, Burks, and
Kantor will never be above average defenders. They also won't be able to
out score other teams.Favors is really the only player the Jazz have
right now that could be a starter on a contending team. The other 4 young
starters would make a very good bench. The Jazz need 4 more starters with two
who are great defenders before they will ever compete. The young guys
that have been in the league for four years aren't going to get much
better. Most players reach their pinnacle after first five years. Don't
forget the mental game is as important as the physical part and the current Jazz
roster is not that mentally tough. Exception Burke, he just doesn't have as
much physical as you would like.
Well, if we manage to sign on a prominent head coach, maybe we can pick up some
solid free agents. Ty Corbin's a good guy, but he's proved he's
not head coach material. If they wanted, they could give him a job in Jazz
management, but it's time to take the team in a different direction. Or
just sell the franchise...either way.
Nice assessment. How crazy is this? Burke hit a 3 at the buzzer to beat
Orlando and that may be the difference between a good and a mediocre pick. In
addition, a win against Minnesota would drop them into a tie with the Celtics.
One more game. Marvin Williams talking about next year is a bad joke, I hope and
pray. I feel sorry for Corbin but he brought it on himself. Jazz management need
to be tarred and feathered. I also hope and pray that the "Rock" has no
influence on free agent signees. Will Corbin be released before or after exit
People calling for Coach Corbin's dismissal really can't see the
forest for the trees. He coached a team to the playoffs in 2012 that really
didn't have any business being there. Last season he got the same guys -
with all of their limitations - to the cusp of the playoffs. Anybody who watched
that team knew they were at their ceiling and weren't going higher
together. This year, everybody wanted the Jazz to "play the young guys and
let them grow," and that's exactly what they did. Now you're upset
at the coach because the young guys are still learning how to compete day in and
day out of an 82-game season? Come on. We got exactly what everybody wanted, and
that's not Corbin's fault. Give Corbin three full seasons with these
kids and then judge him.For those who argue the Jazz did fine when
Stockton and Malone were young bucks still learning how to play, keep it in
context. The players around them were established and experienced veterans. The
Jazz are breaking in 5 core players (soon to be six) and need Corbin's
steady hand to guide them.
I don't think we can really say we are the lakers rivals. I'm sure
everyone in the west feels they are the lakers rivals, but I would think the
feeling needs to be returned, which I doubt it is. also, I forgot about the
trey burke shot...now I'm mad again.
Why complain about that Burke shot? He has made up for it, in nearly every
game. Against LA, he took 22 shots and never got to the free-throw line. He
has to be the worst shooter in the league but he keeps gunning away. If that is
not taking, what else? And he still seems to be a fan favorite.
