Really unfortunate. In my opinion the most improved player on the team last
year, and was being counted on to help pick up production from Trevor
Reilly's departure this year. Would be great to have him back at some point
this year, good luck with surgery and rehab, kid.
This is really too bad. no matter what side of the rivalry your on, you never
want to see anyone get hurt. Hopefully he can recover fully!
Injuries are going to happen in football, it is just the way it is. This is
where a program needs depth to overcome it because there will be season ending,
or long term, injuries that occur to every single football team in the NCAA this

It's his senior year but does he have a redshirt available? Is that an

Danite, he redshirted in 2010, but could apply for a medical hardship if needed.
Danite:There is an option for a medical redshirt if he misses the
entire season. And he WILL most likely miss the entire season. I remember back
when ACL tears were 18-month recovery periods, but even with the 7-month period,
that'd put him back on the field in November. And he won't be ready
to just all of a sudden take the field in November.Sorry to hear
that Hale. ACL tears are rough. I can't even stand hearing people pop
their knuckles because of that sound.
Jacoby is a great guy. I wish him a speedy recovery.
What a terrible thing to happen for this kid. It should be noted that LB is an
extremely strong/deep position group for us.
AZUTE1, not that deep. They lost Fehoko and Filiaga. Whittingham, Norris and
Paul should be solid, but Masina will probably have to be thrown into action
maybe earlier than he's ready for, and after him who is there? Maybe Langi
moves with a potential logjam at RB? Blechen or Carter move up from safety? Who
Hopefully he'll rehab quick and make it back by mid season. Great player
who the Utes really need on the field!

Clarence Smith is as well, in addition to Blechen being available to move back
down, if necessary, as well as the fact LB has been the most complete/consistent
group for us of late....JH would not not have been a starter and was horrendous
in pass coverage.Which other position group could sustain an injury
any better, excepting perhaps RB? JH has proven injury-prone during his career,
unfortunately, but LB is extremely healthy/solid for us.
Well, here is the excuse so many u fans are looking for to explain another
losing season and no bowl game!
@azute"Which other position group could sustain an injury any
better, excepting perhaps RB?"So by "deep" you mean
'relative to other positions' which isn't really "deep"
at all. Also just being "deep" in average LB's isn't really
all that great a thing to be. The truth is utah isn't "deep"
anywhere with great talent, they can ill afford to lose anyone, although just
like hale it is inevitable that they will because it is football and everyone
loses players to injury every year.Interesting that the coaches had
him as the starter but according to you "JH would not not have been a
starter". Was that another thing you deduced from watching highlights on
youtube in your parents arizona basement?
Tough break for both this young man and the Utes!!! Hope his surgery and rehab
go well!!! Hope you make it back on the field but if not use your degree and
have a great life!!!
