Good luck, BYU (can't refer to you as cougars anymore as that gets confusing with Washington State!)

Welcome to the experience of playing a top ranked team. Although not number 1 ranked, as Connecticut is, the PAC-12 has several top 20 teams every year usually led by Stanford ranked in the top 5. And Utah plays them every year.

Now we need an article listing all the accomplishments of this BYU squad. Most people are aware of UCONN as a power women's team. No matter what happens Sat. BYU has had a tremendous season and should be applauded. If BYU were to win, this article would make it that much more impressive. This can be the time you got against the odds sooo Go Get 'em Cougars!!

It's nice that the Utah(12-19, 4-14) gets to play ranked teams every year, but the real measure of success is how many times Utah has beaten the ranked teams they've played.

BYU(28-6) is 3-2 versus ranked teams this season, with wins over #13 Nebraska, #16 NC State, and #18 Gonzaga.

BYU is also 2-1 versus the PAC 12,

with their only loss, a double-overtime game that they gave away after leading by 5 with 2 minutes left in regulation, and after giving up a layup after taking a 2-point lead with 11 seconds left in the 1st OT.

Just another example of how one game does not a season make.

What's Utah's record versus ranked teams this season you ask?

Answer: 0-5, with losses to #6 Stanford, #13 Nebraska, #24 California, and #25 USC (twice)

BYU will be creamed. They will be lucky to score 50 points. It will be a blowout in the first 5 minutes of the game ie 20 to 2 for UConn. and it will only get worse.

    @phoenix

Who was the PAC-12 team BYU lost to?

    "BYU will be creamed."

Probably, but #1 Connecticut(36-0) also creamed

    #4 Louisville three time(81-64, 68-48, and 72-52),
    #5 Baylor(66-55)
    #6 Stanford(76-57),
    #9 Duke(83-61),
    #11 Maryland(72-55)
    #24 California(80-47)
    and
    Oregon(114-68)

and their average margin of victory this season is 36 points,

so there's no shame in getting creamed by one of the greatest women's basketball teams in NCAA history.

It's simply laughable that jealous BYU haters are already trying to position themselves to say that a blowout loss to Connecticut will somehow invalidate a great season for BYU.

Florida and Arizona on the men's side don't even come close to the dominance of Connecticut on the women's side.

"Who was the PAC-12 team BYU lost to?"

    Doesn't matter.

It's about as meaningful as ASU upsetting Arizona in double-overtime.

ASU was left on the outside looking in at the Big Dance.

    Arizona is still dancing.

Good luck to BYU. Regardless of the result, they've had a fantastic season and tournament.

I am from Connecticut and a HUGE UConn fan...my other favorite team/school is BYU. So, on Saturday UConn will win big and in August when BYU plays UConn in football the Cougars will win big. I guess it's a wash.
