The end of this season won't come soon enough. Did anyone ask the Gov to
declare a disaster?
For most of the team's existence, the Jazz were known for their defense.
Now it doesn't seem to even exist. To lose to one of the worst teams in the
league by 20 points, at home no-less, is pitiful. Detroit had their best
offensive production of the entire season against the Jazz last night. There
seem to be no valid excuses. Coach Corbin keeps repeating "We
need to find a way to ...", but they never do. Nothing changes. It's
the coach's job to find that way to improve. The Jazz have had spurts when
they've played great basketball and beaten some very good teams in the
process. But lately, the only team they can beat is themselves. This team gets
consistently worse year after year, regardless of player changes. Corbin probably feels his job is in the hot-seat. And rightfully so. They need
a coach who can motivate this uninspired group. The current one doesn't
seem to be able to. The current group of coaches are simply not getting the job
done. But hey, at least "we can look forward to a great draft
pick." That alone can't save this team.
It seems this team is getting to comfortable shooting 3 pointers. Don't
get me wrong, I like 3 pointers just live everyone else but I feel we need to
develop a stronger inside game. Back in the glory days the Jazz relied on the
pick and roll and setting picks to free up driving plays to the basket. Of
course we also played a little defense in those days. A lot of people would
complain about the reliance on the pick and roll but they didn't seem to
complain too much about winning games and competing for championships. I
don't see any reason this team can't get better building an inside
game but it won't happen if coaching will sit on their hands and watch the
Jazz launch 3 point shots and not start demanding and teaching the team to play
a different style.
Old man Miller must be rolling over in his grave! His boys have run his baby
into the ground. How many more seasons like this before we start calling them
the "Seattle Super Jazz"?
At minerblood, how about the Las Vegas Jazz.
Seattle will never get another team. After letting the Thunder go because they
were too lazy to renovate the arena, they will never deserve another team.
Vegas won't get a team until they take NBA games off the books.
Let's get the white mamba as coach....Brian Scalabrine is highly regarded
by Tom Thibodeau....
Good to find out who the Governor of Utah is. I think he could walk around
anywhere in the state and no one would know him. (I live in Utah now).
Anyone really think one of those one and done freshmen will make a contribution
to this team next year?
