Why would I be surprised to see the airport authority claim to not have
inadequate space? They seem to have enough space to narrow down the travel
widths between terminals with all the merchants that just have to sell trinkets.
Meanwhile, the moving walkway can be out of service for over a week with no one
in sight for days working on it. So just because we have the 26th busiest
airport in the country, don't assume that it's managed particularly
well. Don't even get me started about the long term parking.
Perhaps if they didn't think they needed to charge nine bucks for a beer,
we'd have fewer nervous passengers...
Perhaps those that feel there is a need for a chaplain at the airport should do
what others have done: approach the airport about leasing space for a chaplain
and then create a fund to pay a chaplain or find chaplains who will volunteer to
be at the airport.It doesn't seem as if people are complaining
about the lack of access to a chaplain at the airport, which makes me wonder why
the paper is bringing this up as an issue in the first place.
