    "To get on the primary ballot by gathering signatures, a candidate will have to work extremely hard."

    Those who get on the primary ballot by gathering signatures will hardly have to lift a finger to do so. Why? Because it's virtually impossible to collect the required number of signatures unless you have an enormous staff of signature collectors, and only the very rich will be able to afford such a staff.
