These people are not heroes at all. What they are essentially doing is making
it much easier for the wealthy to buy their way onto the ballot. They are not
“preserving” the caucus-convention system, they are gutting it.
Utah voters are the losers.
The only heros were the signers and volunteers. They were sold down the river
by the organizers. Definitely not Herbert, Bramble, or McCay. Most
definitely NOT McKeown. Those in power completely ignored the will of
the people as evidenced by the 100,000+ people who signed the petition, just so
they could hold onto their power. NONE of them will get my vote this fall.
Heros no! They are all trampling on the first amendment rights of the United
States Constitution. For some unintentionally, but others for self serving
purposes. Can changes be made? Yes and in some ways probably should, but within
the rights of the private political parties.
I'm with lost in DC; I won't be voting for Bramble. He ignored the
will of the people. Blah, more overcrowded poorly organized caucus meetings to
attend. Speaker systems never work well either and there is not enough seating.
From Ms. Gochnour's own professional bio. Sorry, I can't give you the
link. May I suggest Google.>> During Gochnour’s
state service she advised Utah governors Bangerter, Leavitt and Walker, and
served as the media spokesperson for the governor’s office during the 2002
Olympic Winter Games. She also served as a political appointee in the George W.
Bush administration, serving as an associate administrator at the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency and a deputy to the secretary at the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services.
