This is a victory for common sense and compassion.

It's only prejudice that makes hemp extract newsworthy while narcotics are given freely to children by prescription.

I believe this prejudice came from the vietnam war protests in the 70's.

"Most of these kids will only live to be 18 or 21 ... but if we can give them a day, or a week or a month of a higher quality of life, then I feel that the state of Utah owes these parents that opportunity to seek this out," Froerer said.

The hemp oil has been shown to drastically reduce seizures, in some cases from 100 seizures a day to zero.

    Hallelujah!
Common Scense triumphs over stiff-necked, myopic, ignorance at last!

Hooray to all on Capitol Hill! My wife has been working day-and-night on this legislation since last summer, and its passage will be a monumental victory for people - like our 11-year-old son - who suffer from severe epilepsy. Current pharmaceutical therapies are disastrously ineffective while delivering life-altering side effects, while CBD oil has already rescued children from their lifelong nightmares in Colorado. For many Utah families, this bill holds nothing less than the promise of a real miracle. Let's get it passed, get it signed, and *finally* get that life-preserver in the water!

    Congradulations.

    MANY Utah families nothing?
This should be passed just for ONE.

I can't believe those who use a false fear of God, the Word of Wisdom, or Reefer Madness to warrant their callousness of those suffering,

Especially when the D&C 89 WoW speciafically refers to the use of herbs as being ordianed for the use of man.

What about our aging parents with ALS or Cancer or other diseases?
Don't they deserve something that will help them live happily an extra day, or week, or month more?

    What about us as caregivers?
Don't we deserve a higher quality of life for our parents in the last days we have together?

Pill manufacturers pay more to keep cannabis illegal than any other group.

In animal studies, THC from cannabis has been shown to prevent the buildup of clumps in the brain that cause Alzheimers Disease. THC was better for mice than any current treatment.

In animal studies, the entourage of compounds in the plant have been shown to kill cancer cells while protecting neighboring healthy cells.

In animal studies, cannabis has been shown to delay the onset of ALS in mice and extend their life.

In animal studies, mice with PTSD who were given cannabis did not suffer PTSD symptoms when exposed to trauma or trauma reminders.

In animal studies, cannabis has been shown to grow new brain cells in mice with elderly diseases caused by dying brain cells.

Yet our FDA blocks human trials for cannabis treatments and Utah lawmakers throw users in jail.
