Welcome to the club. I've been diagnosed for 15 years, and have two
children diagnosed as well. It gets easier. 15 years ago it was hard because
the food industry didn't understand it all, but now they do, and adapting
is much easier. Good luck on your diet.
Jason:Here's an awesome Chocolate Cake recipe that WE LOVE. Its
flaky, light, moist, tastes great and there's NO FLOUR. We have a recipe
for pizza dough (without flour) if you'd like it too. And, Costco just
started selling organic Nutiva brand coconut flour for cheap. Yahoo!Chocolate CakePlace all the following ingredients in a powerful

Jason:There was a letter from the Priesthood Department to various
church leaders dated March 1, 2013. The memo/letter is entitled, "Sacrament
for Members with Gluten Intolerance." Here is the entire letter
actually:"Some members of the Church suffer from celiac disease
or other serious intolerancesto gluten. In such cases, bishops are
authorized to provide an appropriate substitute forthe regular sacrament
bread, such as corn- or rice-based bread or crackers."I
don't know how you have the sacrament arranged for your personal situation,
but I figured this notice may be of help.
HealthFood stores, They all said the same thing -- try natural wild
yeast.Natural wild yeast made from "starts" is how breads
have been made for 5,000 years.[Think the unleaven bread during Moses]During WWII Fleishmann's devolped dry, fast rising yeast, and
epedemic started.I'm not saying it's going to work for
everyone, but before giving Glutten entirely and popping Big

no good results.Like washing 7 times in the river -- I don't

Many people who started very low carbohydrate diets for weight loss or blood
sugar control but had no idea what gluten was or whether they might have a
problem with it, have had digestive problems that they had been taking for
granted for years suddenly and magically fade away. This was my experience. If
you have heartburn, flatulence, or intestinal pain problems try a no grain low
carb diet for a month and see what happens.
If you read the word of wisdom, you'll notice that grains have the same
restrictions/prohibitions and does meat. Grains probably shouldn't be part
of a regular diet. In our home we eat grains once every 3 to 6 months. Or less.
But we have lots of grains in our food storage just in case of famine.Autoimmune diseases occur when the body loses the ability to distinguish
invading proteins from self-proteins that make up the body. The loss results in
destruction of self-tissues by the immune system. Dietary cereal grains are
noted to be causative agents for celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis,
both autoimmune diseases. There are a number of diseases that may occur either
simultaneously with celiac disease or on their won, including Addison's
disease, asthma, autoimmune thyroid disease, dental enamel defects, epilepsy,
liver disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Withdrawal of gluten-containing cereals
from the diet can ameliorate symptoms of celiac disease and herpetiformis.Other autoimmune diseases may be related to a high intake of cereal
grains, including insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), rheumatoid
arthritis, nephropathy, aphthous stomatitis (canker sores), and even multiple
Pancreas, liver and kidneys are filters get slower and slower as we get older
and older. That means we have to chew the food longer and longer giving time for
the pancreas, liver and kidneys.

I thought you were getting your information. Health Food stores are not a
reliable source for nutritional science information. Health food

stores don't have. But I would no more use them as a factual source of

Jason, I'd like to add to 1.96 Standard Deviations comments. There is a sister in my ward who is allergic to everything it seems. Anyway,
she provides that which she is able to partake (Bishop approved I assume) and
it's placed on the tray when bread is broken. The deacon makes sure she is
served first to ensure someone else doesn't accidentally consume it.
My wife just finished reviewing the recent medical conference on Celiac Disease.
Celiac is incurable, though somewhat treatable, and means a lifetime without
gluten. The real surprise is how this wheat-triggered disease
relates to the Word of Wisdom. Most members think wheat as the "staff of
life" (verse 14) means that wheat is man's best year round food and
should be eaten often. And many members, and priesthood leaders, believe that
challenging wheat consumption is theologically improper. In reality,
that is not what is implied by "staff of life." Take a look at verse 15.
Focus on the pronoun "these." What does it refer to? Grain. And
based on verse 15, when should we eat grain? Only in times of famines and
excess of hunger! Now think about a staff. When do we need a staff? When we
are physically weak. Thus, according to this reading of the WoW,
grain, (wheat), should be consumed basically when we need extra energy, like in
winter. Not continuously at every meal and the major component of all snacks.
Continuous wheat consumption will cause a leaky gut followed by degenerative and
autoimmune diseases, including Celiac. Health does begin in the
navel. Wise nutrition is critical.
