Institutions of a civil society and a free market place did not enable Senator
Lee to make his required house payments or avoid a short sale
Accreditation involves both governmental and non-governmental agencies... I can
just see each state having their own accreditation department, want to talk
about increasing government size? I'd much rather have one group of people
made up of a variety of interested parties than 50 little squabbling states who
can't agree on anything.
Senator Lee's results and myopic views continue to amaze me. He says:"Middle-income Americans can't get ahead because taxes, inflation and
government regulation eat up any raises or cost-of-living adjustments they might
receive, he said."It's a fact that taxes on the middle
class have gone down over the past 10 years so that's had no affect on our
ability to get ahead. Inflation has been almost nill during that time period as
well, so that's not a factor. It was the lack and enforecment of
regulations in the financial sector that crashed our economy so I'm not
buying his regulation argument either. The real issue is greed and the abudance
of cheap labor being used outside the country. My company has given me a 1-2%
increase in pay annually for the past 10 years, while cutting benefits and
retirement income. All this time their profits and compensation for senior
management has been two-fold.We can't expect our leaders to solve
problems if they continue to distort the truth or have no knowledge of the
facts. 2016 can't come soon enough to get this man back home.
dalefarr - and your point is? The fact that a sitting Senator has had some of
the same experiences that are all too common to ordinary folks is a problem?
Institutions of a civil society and a free market place are a problem??? The
wonderful thing about a free market place is that sometimes we are allowed to
make mistakes - yet the freedom allows us to overcome those mistakes.Senator Lee is someone that holds values that I hold and has experienced life
in much the same way that many have. He is of common, yet exceptional,
experience and understanding. I trust him. One of the better humans that I am
privileged to know. I applaud him for his integrity and courage.
Senator Lee, you have my complete support. I appreciate and feel comfortable
supporting a representative who actually thinks and is capable of identifying
issues and have policy to take action toward resolutions. Thanks.
Wanna know when a republican isn't telling the truth? It's when he
says he wants to help the middle class.
Window dressing. Senator Lee has seriously alienated the leadership and most
members of his own party. Because of his petulance, his proposals, regardless
of merit, will never get out of a committee if they get that far. He's
burned far too many bridges to ever be effective as a legislator. Utah needs to
replace him with someone with maturity.
Enough reason to vote against him and for his next opponent when he runs is that
he and Cruz orchestrated a sixteen-day shutdown of the Federal Government,
resulting in more than a $240,000,000,000 loss for the country and the American
taxpayer. Worse, he said he would do it again. Shameful,
to say the least.
FT I second your comments. Well said.
Senator Lee is a great American.
FT, very well said. I have to support everything you have said. Anyone with
common sense and the ability to research the subject will come to the same
conclusion as you did. I still am reeling from the economic damage his and
Cruz's shutdown did to all of us. I have family in Southern Utah whose
livelihoods were damaged by this folly.
if you bad mouth republicans for wanting to help the middle class. you need to
do the same when the demo's talk about education and helping the poor.
it's nothing but lip service.
