Great article Hayden, you do an amazing job. You need to take over the sports section at EC Progress. Great game Emery, hope all the other teams in 2A learn from you.

Not taking anything away from the Emery boys but could it be that the Wasatch Coach wants other teams to believe they can be beat to quiet the negativity of them being a private institution and beating every team badly? What I saw at the game was a team that can score whenever they feel like it. They have exhibited poise and control consistently. I believe they want the other teams to think they can be beat as we enter the state playoffs and championship. By the way Wasatch has made the teams they play better and has forced some of the coaches to actually step up their coaching. From what I have seen of Wasatch academy has been positive. The players have shown sportsmanship and seem like nice kids. On the other hand I saw just the opposite with a couple of the Emery boys the night they played Wasatch.

No real coach would alter his program to please naysayers. Emery came out swinging, I'm positive WA wasn't expecting that, they were expecting them to play like they have all season long, like they're going to lose. Because that's what's being feed/drilled into their heads by their leaders.

They lost by 24 points and only outscored them in 2 quarters. That doesn't prove that W.A. can be beat. That's called gettin your butt kicked. 24 points. 24
