I really can't say enough about my respect for Coach K and how much
he's invested into the program and the community. The previous couple
coaching staffs seemed to do little in the local scene, both in recruiting and
culturally. The first great thing Larry did was to go out and get Jordan
Loveridge, then picked up another good local player in Van Dyke, and this year
secured one of the better local players in years in Chapman.Even his
non-local players, especially Taylor and Tucker, as well as DuBois last year,
get involved in the community seemingly more than prior players that I know of.
I loved hearing about the Institute fireside Coach presented yesterday, and it
shows a lot of how he embraces the local culture instead of just living amongst
it.A more attractive job may eventually come calling for him, and he
may take it, but I think it goes to show his commitment to improving the program
on all levels, not just in the W/L record. Props to Coach, and thanks to him for
his positive impact in the program and SLC community.
A road win against lowly USC won't mean much, and even though I'd like
to see the Utes do well, there is almost no chance of winning against UCLA or
Arizona on the road.
CFiT, umm they actually DID have a pretty good chance to win at Arizona, and
they don't go there twice in the same season, the next one is at home.
I'll let the games play themselves out instead of prognosticating future
events that none of us have any way of predicting.
A road win over USC will be a small milestone. It will help to get the monkey
off their backs a little bit. They will continue to improve on the road.
They'll get there.
StGtoSLC--"CFiT, umm they actually DID have a pretty good chance

Sorry u fans but a road game equals a road loss. Shall we look at the last
three seasons for the history?
@ but seriouslyYour mighty cougs haven't done that much better
on the road this year either. I guess you have already forgot how well they
played on the road at Utah this year.I echo StGtoSLC comments that
I'm impressed at the progress coach K has made with this program and how he
has been reaching out to the community. I would add the hiring of Tommy Connor
as one of his good moves as well.I hope the Utes can't finally
get a road win this week. No matter who the opponent is, they need to get over
that hump.Go Utes!
Utes are doing just fine...and they will get a few wins. Y fans really? Your
dogging them for the wins and losses. Mind blowing.....I seem to remember a
game against the 2 of you. Why would you be talking trash....and you can't
compare the teams the Y play compared to the teams the U play. They are holding
there own very good at home. It good leagues it is very hard to win on the
road. They U is doing very very well and will start winning a few on the
road!Go Aggies!Go Utes!Don't even wish ill will to
Quest, You might actually look at the record books. BYU is 5/8 this year
against several top 25 teams. The utes are zero road wins this year. In 2011/12
BYU went 15/2 on the road and in 2012/13 they were 8/7 on the road. I believe
that would be 28/15 over the same period that u went 1/22. Nice try.
Aggfan,Yes, every so often the utes beat the cougars. Shall we look at the
quality of both schedules because I can assure the national experts do and have
BYU ranked much higher than u in a head to head comparison. So the answer is
that yes, we can compare the quality of teams both clubs play and u lose. After
we do that let's look back over the past 13 games.
@downunderI'm really struggling to understand your post. BYU
is not 5/8 against top 25 teams this year and they didn't go 15/2 on the
road a couple of years back. Suggest you have better facts before telling
another poster to do some research.

needs to figure out how to hold a lead on the road. If I recall correctly we
have blown 3/4 big leads in the 2nd half.
UteologyUtah has 0 wins over top 25 teams as of today and 0 wins
away from the HC.In fact, Utah only has 2 road wins in the last 3
seasons COMBINED - at Washington and at Texas State last season.
