Why does government even want anything to do with Christmas trees? Something
I can see the headlines now. "OBAMA hates Christmas"In
reality, it is businesses pooling their resources to purchase favorable
legislation. It would appear that their bribery worked. So, the takeaway from this and the outrage should be that we allow business
(and unions) to pay congress to get favorable legislation. You cannot
pick and choose which bribery you find acceptable.I condemn it all.
I can assure you, the laws passed by our Congress would be much better for
America if they were not tainted by money.
What a tragic, sad joke our federal government has become. The government is
obsessed with controlling every aspect of our lives from Obamacare to Christmas
"The government is obsessed with controlling every aspect of our lives from
Obamacare to Christmas trees!"Seriously? This was private
enterprise bribing the government. The "government" = politicians and
politicians will sell out for MONEY. And this goes for both R and D. At least understand what you are talking about before posting.
Fox's headlines will read "Obama forces consumers to purchase live
Christmas trees". I'm sure I will hear it at my in laws this weekend,
probably those exact words. In reality this kind of corruption and bribery has
been going on for a long while now, and on both sides of the fence.
Joe: Maybe it would have been better if JSB had posted as follows: "What a
tragic, sad joke our federal government has become. The government is obsessed
with... [being bought and paid for by private enterprise and special interests
and, by so doing]... controlling every aspect of our lives from Obamacare to
Christmas trees!"You're right: "...politicians will
sell out for MONEY. And this goes for both R and D."Greed...Money...Power
Ned,His goal was to bash Obama and the democrats. Posting as you
suggest would also point a finger at his beloved GOP.And that is not
an option. No, we need to carefully select our words so that our side
is blameless while the other side is causing all of our ills.To
suggest that both R and D are at fault gets one branded as a "liberal".
Joe: But isn't that everyone's goal...to bash the "other
side"? Since the concept of agreeing to disagree agreeably has long ago been
thrown to the dogs...
"Joe: But isn't that everyone's goal...to bash the "other
side"?"Actually, no. It is not my goal. I am happy when
either side does good. And I let them both know when they don't.And its not even about disagreeing.Unfortunately, even when
there is agreement a disagreement must be created. The parties have to
work hard to differentiate themselves from the other party. And that
is really pretty hard to do.
