I hope Hastings builds his offense around his talent base, not his coaching
Lehi's loss is Hillcrest's gain. Coach Hasting's specialty is
taking failing football programs and turning them around. It will be fun to
watch the results he gets at Hillcrest. My son played at Lehi and loved what
coach Hastings was able to do. As a parent we watched the Lehi Program grow
from being a perennial loser scoring 90 points a season with the spread offense,
to becoming a power run team that ended up being the second highest scoring team
in the state. Lehi ended up with a 2000 yard rusher and a 1500 yard passer, and
put up close to 5000 yards of offence and 40 points a game. It seems to me his
philosophy is to win games and get kids to the next level. It's nice to
see a Principal that knows what she's doing. Wish Hastings and his new
team all the best.
Uncle.....Not much of a talent base at Hillcrest...Let the guy coach.
What happened to Casey Miller?
His offense is from the stone age. I'm glad it's leaving with him.
Best of luck to Coach Hastings and his staff. The kids at Hillcrest are really
The new coach at Lehi will have everyone forgetting about the old staff. He is
an offensive guru with college coaching experience and run and throws equally.
He has put many kids into d-1 programs and will have a positive influence on the
kids in Lehi. Get ready for a whole new fun ride at Lehi. I can't wait.
Look for an announcement in the d-news in the next few days.
We all know the new head Coach is going to be Ed Larson from Timpanogas, Not
sure how much of a offensive guru Ed is? We know Ed struggles to win in 4A in a
weak region! Best of luck to all the Lehi boys!
Fast Aggie, would your rather have seen Lehi stick with a spread offense that
produced an 0-26 record? The program needed to start with the basics and that
is exactly what Coach Hastings did. Coach Hastings and his staff built a great
foundation for Lehi football. Good luck to ALL of the Lehi players and the new
staff. Go Pioneers!
Good-Bye and Good-Riddance. Hillcrest you can have him!
Worried Roll model......Typical Lehi community behavior. Lets just say, we have
a hard time being positive. The community will turn on the new coach too, it is
just a matter of time, that is what we know how to do.This problem has been
going on for a long, long time and I don't think it is changing soon.
Community culture is hard to break. I am sure he is a good coach too and I hope
the best. As fan of Lehi football and a member of the community, I am
disappointed and embarrassed with the lack of ability the community has to see
the positive changes that took place in 3 seasons. In my opinion the universe is
looking out for Hastings, Karma I guess. I wouldn't coach here. Lehi how
many years will the new coach last? Until the new school split or sooner? Time
will tell. The stands are going to be fun this year. You know what I mean.
