Good first half. This would be a great time for Delon to come up with an Andre
Miller-esque triple-double. 7 pt, 7 rb, 3 ast, 1 stl, and 1 blk is a good start!
Meh it's pac 12. They only have one good team in the league. Just
kidding. This would be a nice win for the utes. Are they going to hold on?
Chris hasn't been here to guarantee a win so they actually might win.
Tickets, $402 burgers and 2 caffeinated cokes, $16Watching Utah beat
up on top 25 and one of the most respected programs in the history of college
basketball, $56Simultaneously jealous WCC fans who said Utah had no chance
of winning stick their foot in their mouths: PRICELESS
Way to go Utes!I'm always happy to see a local team take it to
a top-25 team!
Quality wins in a quality conference at home or on the road who cares ? Let the
quality spin begin ! Great win Utes !
Nice! Confidence builder. Let's get some wins on the road!Frustrating
to watch them let the big lead get away...but they're a young team.
They did all they could to give it away but a nice win for the utes. They
better start practicing how to beat the full court press because you can
guarantee that every other team in the league will be doing it after seeing that
lead go from 17 to 4 in just a matter of minutes. Always good to see Alford
That's what I'm talking about!!! A few points away from being
undefeated! This team is legit! Didn't our neighbors down south
predict that USC would be our last PAC 12 win? GO UTES!!!
@EdGrady "I think the Utes will win easily and stickers for everybody in
attendance"Ed, will you please do us the honor of passing out
Obviously UCLA is over rated because Utah never beats anyone good. Especially at home.
Nice win Utes!
After the USC game, BYU fans ran to the article to talk."One
brief moment of hope for the Utes, before it all comes crashing down starting
with UCLA."Im guessing they won't come running to this
article, and the ones who do will cherry pick some random stat like they love to
Well how about that???Sweet win today for the Utes (despite trying
to give it away at the end). Finally, a close win against a ranked opponent.
Will enjoy watching the U flash up on the hill tonight after a big
Nice win Utes! Good to see the hard work of these young kids payoff in a
quality win. Need to continue to improve, especially against the
press, but these two wins show an improved offense and nice to see Ogbe make a
contribution.Great to see coach K. show so much intensity and his
competitive fire. Normally very low key, he showed just how badly he wants to
win. Good home crowd. Utes currently 2nd in PAC 12 basketball
Just like the football team had their upset win over Stanford in Pac 12 play,
expect the Utah basketball team to take a nose dive as well from here on out in
conference play, LOL. Go Ducks!!
Yay! Way-to-go! What a great PAC-12 game to watch. So proud of them.
Congratulations to the University of Utah Utes on another league victory.Time to make some noise on this three game road swing.Go
Not too surprising considering how the Utes play at home. Great win and
something to build on. The Utes will go somewhere this post season, hopefully to
the sweet sixteen.
Great win!Looks like one of the Pac-12 analysts was correct. At the
start of the season, he picked Utah to beat UCLA as the upset of the year in the
Pac-12. Let's hope the other was correct too, he picked Utah to beat
AZ.Go Utes !!
I said all along, that an easy early schedule is what will help the utes.
But I thought Utah was supposed to lose to both Southern Cal schools.Gotta love being in the Pac-12.Future looking good for the Utes.
Great win Utah!Still a lot more games against top 25 teams before
March... Lets post a W on some of them too.
Nice win, now time to pick the road play.GO UTES!
Congrats Utes. Big win indeed, these are the kind of games you look forward to
in the PAC12 and your boys came up big.
Isn't it interesting that comments seem to post so quickly on byu articles
and comments making fun of Utah. And when Utah has the best win of any team in
the state of Utah, the comments are mysteriously slow to be posted.Great win Utes! Continuing to show why we are the best team in the state of
Utah. And its not even close.
Big win for the Utes. They have an outside chance for the tourney.
Great win for the Utes against a tough UCLA team. My guess is that many of the
usual suspects who's focus in life seems to be to ridicule the Utes will
mysteriously be silent for a few days. Perhaps they're in Tulsa. Go
Kinda excited about the win today...just wishing our RPI rating and strength of
schedule was better...I think it's better to have those numbers than win
big games against nationally ranked teams
That terrible loss right there might keep UCLA out of the dance and will
probably end up getting their coach fired. How pathetic is the pac ten right
This team is the real deal at home! Now we just need to take it on the road.
UCLA is obviously overated if Utah beat them because Utah never beats anyone
good, especially at home.
Nice win! Go Utes!! Now go out and get some on the road.
Great game. Great crowd with a great atmosphere.
Congratulations ute fans... that is a very nice win, even if it was at the HC...
I didn't think your team could do it, but once again I was proven wrong...
That is a very nice "quality win" for consideration come March...
Wow. Article completely devoid of any recognition of a great Ute win. Well, let
me be the first Cougar fan to step up and say, well done, Utes. Great to see a
local kid (Loveridge) and some So. Cal talent take it to a top 25 team. Although
it's hard for a diehard Cougar fan to show some class and say that it is no
shame to have been trounced by a very, very good Utah squad. Coach K and his
squad deserve big props. Oh, wait---I'm not a Cougar fan. Never mind.
Great game! Two years ago Utah lost six league games by 20+ points.
(One of those was to UCLA) What a turn-around.I have to give a
personal thanks to Jordan Loveridge. He took a chance with a new coach and a
school with a great history yet a close to a decade of mediocre basketball. You
are to cornerstone of what could be a great future! When coach told
the team "We told the kids this is it. This is why you join the Pac-12, to
play in games like these." he said it all!
This was a great win for our Utes today. The Huntsman Center was rocking, just
like old times. Coach K has this team playing outstanding! And it was a team
effort. Besides our contributions from Joveridge, Wright, Taylor, Tucker, and
the bigs, Ogbe came through bigtime. Super victory! Keep it up
At poymanThanks and nicely done! Need to win on the road.Go Seahawks!
What's Utah's RPI now? It was 144 before this win. Congrats on the
win, it was a good one. By the way, BYU's RPI was 36 before their win.
Nice win for the Utes. Congrats.I just noticed that nine posts
mysteriously disappeared... very interesting.
Coach K is awesome. Jazz, please hire him.
Nice win Utes! Now go get it done on the road. No reason not to have a few
teams in the state playing post-season.
I give props where they are due. Nice win utes. You surprised a lot of people.
The ute win certainly does cause some doubt as to the quality of
the pac. They may have been way overrated this year. AZ is the only quality
team in the league.Having said all that I still give the utes some
credit for getting up for big games against UCLA and BYU. If they could just be
consistent they may make some noise.
Everybody back on the bandwagon! Too bad the preseason schedule pretty much
guarantees no chance at the big dance. Not like it is going to matter. Still a
nice win for the utes. When does Arizona come to town? That should be a fun
Any time a team from Southern California gets beat, it's a good day!
Just think what might have been if the Utes hadn't flopped against the
Washington schools! This is the part that is hard to fathom and make me scratch
my head. They beat the two most storied programs in the nation and flopped
against the Washington schools? How does that happen? It goes to show
there's just so much parity in b/b now. Any given night you can be
embarrassed by a lesser opponent from any conference. We've seen that
happened a several times already this season. It's a great win
for the Utes though! Nothing like beating a rank opponent to provide a much
needed boost in confidence and I'm happy for them. Glad my Cougars won
too! Hope both programs keep it up.
I love the fact that two more kids stepped up this week, Tucker and Ogbe.Great defense as usual!Go Utes!@DenverSpeaking of tanking... Go Ducks!!
@ Ken:What's really interesting is that some Ute fans complain
when BYU fans comment on Ute articles and now you are complaining because so few
have. Just can't win. Please take into account that the game was played in
the middle of the day on Saturday when non-Ute fans have lots of other things
to do.A grey win indeed. The next step is to learn how to win road
games... sooner rather than later.
@Down under "The ute win certainly does cause some doubt as to the quality
of the pac"Why should it? Your 2nd place WCC Cougars were
handed their worst loss of the year by Utah. Not to mention BYU is 1-2 against
the PAC12. The quality of the conference is fine.
thebigsamoan,It's not that hard to fathom when you consider
that they're coming back from a 10 year struggle and they start 4
sophomores and a junior with just 1 senior on the team. Excited about the rest
of this season, the tournaments and future years. Stay confident Runnin'
At Milly in Filly,"Obviously UCLA is over rated because Utah
never beats anyone good. Especially at home."So true
Mildred, all one has to do is look at what happened on December 14th as proof of
I agree down under. AZ is the only good team in the PAC 12...I sure wish the
PAC 12 would wake up and send Standord, Oregon, Washington and UCLA up...and go
grab some quality teams like Portland, USD, Pepperdine and LMU...now that is
some good sports teams there.Great comment UNDER...
After reading posts from the cougar fans, you get the impression they believe
their team is better than the Utes. I guess the beatdown the Utes gave the
cougs has been erased from their memories. The Utes are very young
but you have to like the direction of the program now compared to the train
wreck Coack K inherited after two disastrous hirings by Chris Hill. The
Huntsman Center is returning to its reputation as a very difficult place for
visiting teams. With a solid of core of players and a great
recruiting class on the way, the future is looking bright.Go Utes!
I watched the game on satellite TV from Akiachak Alaska, and was proud and
excited. Go UTES!!!
downunder--"Having said all that I still give the utes some
credit for getting up for big games against UCLA and BYU. If they could just be
consistent they may make some noise."So, if we didn't post
a W, instead posting a L in OT by 2 points, we didn't "get up" for
#10 Oregon? This would also mean byu didn't get up for Oregon, either, per
this line of "reasoning".Like in Football, we "only get
up for byu and their Super Bowl", 'til we beat Stanford....Now in
basketball, the "rule" is equally as fluid as UCLA was added to it....I
suppose we also weren't up for BSU in Boise, a Tourney team from last
season which returned all 5 starters and virtually never loses at home, because
we lost by 2 points, instead of winning? What has been unequivocally
established is U Basketball is back and, relative to the byu fans on here, this
fact was on full-display last month as we thoroughly 100% dominated their team
in straight running them out of our gym.FYI--Team Rankings Overall
Conference Power Ratings to date list PAC-12 #3/wcc #10.
I think it's rich to hear byu fans clamor about us being winless on the
road [Nevermind we've played merely 3 total, incl. only 1 in our OOC!] when
the byu program historically has been an extreme illustration of the disparity
in success for certain schools in Home/Away, well beyond the norm. This season is no different as they won one true road game during OOC, in Game
2 of their season no less, and playing against significantly weaker overall
conference competition, they get curb-stomped at 2 no-name schools to start
conference play.WAZZU has enough talent to take ranked CU w/Spencer
Dinwiddie into OT and has a RPI superior to LMU/Pepperdine.This akin
to referencing in football a '11 CU team we lost to at home, which also
beat 2 other FBS schools, as well....Yet, this continues so, in spite of byu
registering the state's worst loss during this 3-YR period when they set a
new low in losing to UVA this last season, whose sole other win came at home
against a FCS bottom-feeder.Head-To-Head results no longer count,
per the byu fanbase.
@ UU:All 3 of byu's pac12 games were on the road. At least they
can claim a pac12 road win. That's more than the Utes can currently do.
Can the Utes win on the road?
Ken Lee--"Washington State"Using the currently
preferred "measure" in provo--WAZZU RPI 119/Pepperdine RPI

Great win. The most important part of it is the Utes are learning to close out
close games. Our RPI jumped to 122 after this game. (BYU fell to 41 after
winning.) We're doing just fine for a team starting 4 sophomores and 1
@tatorsA bit jealous of the Utes and the PAC12?Gotta
love that powerful West Coast Conference.
We could have won them by a ton more.
