    Speaking of LDS authors, Berniece Rabe passed away December 28th at the age of 85.
    A 1948 convert to the church, she never lived in Utah, but she was a Newberry nominee.

    Does Ann Romney really count? The Romney's don't live in Utah.

    Elizabeth Smart--what a fine young woman with a good head on her shoulders. I saw her in a television interview and was so impressed. Her horrendous experience could have ruined her life, but she is so strong and has stepped beyond all that. Utah should be proud of her. Can't wait to read her book.

    Ann Romney's book was published by Deseret Book, which is a publisher based in Utah. The list includes authors that are from Utah or have some other strong tie to the state.

    James Dashner may live in UT, but his roots are in GA. And I know his mom!

    He's had books on the lists in previous years. I didn't see a book on the lists by Larry Correia in 2013. What's the title of the one that would have been on last year's list?
