While I don't really care she did this, its true there isn't much
difference between Duck Dynasty sharing his feelings about homosexuality and
Beyoncé clearing mocking something very sacred to Christians.
Andy Warhol is the only one who has a right to be offended, and I doubt he
is.Isn't anything sacred?Well, no, not really. And
that's a good thing!
We live in a world where what has been considered right and sacred is now being
trampled under the feet of those who have no respect for common decency. Movies
and the Internet are full of violence, pornography, and hate. It is not
politically correct to speak out against homosexuality, yet it is fine to
belittle those values that gave this country freedom. What a sad world our
children and grandchildren are left with. But we have seen it all before. Each
generation has to learn and pay the price.
Another Singer making a fool out of herself.
The fact that this is one of the most popular stories on Deseret news is whats
wrong with country.
Secular humanism has its sacred values, as well. Touch any of these sacred cows
and you can expect some amusing emotional reactions: 1. The
normalization of homosexuality (indeed, virtually all forms of sexual
expression) 2. Abiogenesis/naturalistic philosophy 3. The public
censorship of supernaturalist philosophies 4. Unborn child murder
justified by the freedom of female sexuality 5. Abhorrence of the death
penalty for even the most heinous of murderers (contrast this with number
four) 6. The dated, positivistic assumption that science alone delivers
real knowledge, or at least knowledge that is of any practical import 7.
Belief that the Flying Spaghetti Monster succeeds as satire(see my comments
under that news article) 8. Belief that secular humanism as a philosophy
should be favorably treated in a class of its own, apart from other
philosophies 9. Belief that naturalism is an a posteriori belief, and not
a priori 10. Belief that individual actions that do not directly impact
others do not have a profound impact upon the health of society collectively. What is sacred to a secularist? Just push the right buttons to find
Oh, and I forgot the most important secular sacred cow:11. There are
no sacred cows
Reminds me of when Madonna came out with "A little Prayer" That was over
20 years ago and people were saying the same thing. Helped her career
rocket. It's a ploy for controversy and it's working.. GOOD STORY.
