Candlestick Park - lots of great history and memories. Joe Montana and Steve
Young and the current team which is pretty darn good. I have to say however that
Candlestick Park is one of the weirdest looking things I have ever seen. It
looks like somebody just threw together some stadium seats at the last minute.
Time for the 49ers to play in a decent looking stadium. Lots of old ball parks
need to also be retired such as Fenway in Boston and Wrigley in Chicago. Fenway
reminds me of the old stadium shown in The Natural. Great to have some nice
photo's and keep some memento's and then build something new! I think
of all the beautiful new baseball parks in the major leagues today and then I
see these old dinosaurs. I recall the old Boston Garden with its dim lights and
dead spots in the floor. The new Garden is beautiful and makes you quickly
forget the old garden. Wearing your dads old suit is fine and sentimental...for
a while and then its time to hang it in the closet and head to MR MACS.
Looking forward to the game! Hope the Cougars represent well. As for bowls set
up for 2014 and 2015, I think the team should focus on winning and becoming bowl
eligible first and foremost. They will always go bowling if they win out most
of their games.Go Cougars!
Go 9er's!! Not a college football fan as my perfectionistic personality
doesn't allow me to permit the ton of mistakes there are in collegiate
sports but I do know that BYU is the Lords school and they are a good
Some exciting things on the burner for post season next year??? That sounds a
lot like the Pre-Independence Teasers that were thrown out about 4 years ago...
As I recall I was very disappointed with the announcement then and something
tells me that I will experience more disappointment with this announcement...I'm a Pro-Conference kind of guy... I'd like to see Holmoe put
together some influence to get us into a BCS conference sometime in the next 2
years... If he can pull that off then I think a lot of folks will be singing his
praises...As for Candlestick? I always thought it was a much nicer
venue than it got credit for... I have seen many games there and observed some
very historical events there... I go all the way back to Brodie and Spurrier and
loved the Montana and Young eras... A lot of BYU greats played for the Niners
besides Young... I remember Shell being a #1 Draft Pick, Bill Ring returning
kicks, and I remember the first game that Holmoe started after the starting CB
that Holmoe backed up went down with an injury. Holmoe was a good player and a
