Excellent piece, Dirk. There is nothing like a packed HC for a Utes basketball
game. For Taylor to say the place was "rocking," he absolutely nailed
it. Coach K and his staff and the players are certainly doing their part.
It's time for true Utah fans to pack the arena once again! Pac-12 play is
approaching fast and the Utes need our support.Great game,
Utes...you "ROCKED" the HC!
I was at the game on Saturday night, a lot of fun. Like other arenas though, the
Utes need to find a way to get the students closer to the court--that would give
the team an even bigger advantage. The Michigan/Arizona game Saturday morning on
t.v. was a great example--all those Michigan students in the first ten rows or
so. Get the MUSS out of the cheap seats!
jp3Put them behind the visitor's bench. That will keep Mika plenty
Just like football!
Wish I coulda been there. Work has taken me across the country for what should
be a while, so I can't for a bit. The crowds at a few of the games last
year, Arizona and Oregon particularly, were great. This game would've given
me goosebumps. I hope the next game I'm able to attend will be similar.
Keep it up, Utes fans!
That was one of the funnest games I can remember. The BYU crowd came in with
some moxy. They were really loud for a few minutes before the game started.
But they were silent for most of the evening after tip off. The home crowd was
amped from start to finish. There is just not much better than
having your rival come in, certain that they are still "out of your
league," and then taking them to the woodshed.
I still have not recovered from the embarrassment we suffered on Saturday night
but my hat's off to Coach K and the Utes! They have shown that without
question they're much much better than what some of our delusional fans
gave them credit for. Sometimes the hype drives me crazy and wish people would
just quietly cheer and let the results speaks for themselves. Here's
hoping both teams will do well and have much success from here on.
I like you BigSamoan. I'd like to watch sports with you. Thanks for being
great fan of your team.
Anyone I saw in blue got a loud "just like football" all night long from
me and my group.Atmosphere was great.I'm beginning
to get worried though. With a schedule full of teams like Evergreen and byu,
are we really prepared for Pac 12 play where we will play ranked teams at least
6 times, including the best team in the nation?
My 77-69 prediction gave byu WAY too much credit in that game. I
guess we learned where a #9 Pac 12 team stacks up against a #2 WCC teamLOLPac 12 > wccUtah > byuLoveridge
> HawsGo Utes!
Most of the byu fans have gone into hiding. I can't find my byu friend
tators anywhere on these boards. The silence is deafening!Yes, the
game was incredible, the fans were great.I sat very close to a group
of byu fans and I let them have it all night long!
@myperspective True Utah fans have been to every game for the last 4 years.
bigsamoan,Thanks for having some sense to you! It would be easier
to cheer for your school if more fans were like you and could simply acknowledge
the truth as opposed to making up excuses for when they don't like the
Krystkowiak is right. I saw Boise State's "Corral" rattle the utes
into a loss at Boise.

not post for a week if the Utes won. While I don't miss his comments,
I've got to give him credit for following through--unlike some y

Guys the MUSS is in the perfect spot. They are about 10 feet away from the
baseline and the visitors bench. And about 8 feet above giving them perfect
position to project noise down to opposing teams and players. You prob
can't find a student section in the country that is closer to the court and
visitors bench in the country.

He's probably staying away more out of embarrassment than his commitment to
stay away for a week. And Ducky... well he may well be gone for
months. This beatdown was analogous to the 2011 BYU stomping in football. And we
remember how long he stayed away after that. When we do see him
again, he'll tell us all he was in Amarillo, Texas on business.
Utah basketball is clearly back and the crowd once again has something to cheer
for. With Chapman coming in next year you are going to be even better. I have
been impressed with Coach K since the PAC-12 tournament last year. Good Luck in
the PAC-12.Go Cougars!
