I doubt if the residency requirements are as obscure, arcane and convoluted as
the mandates that John Swallow has been rumored (but not formally charged) with
breaking. It is not a good thing when those eager to replace the
besieged Attorney General start off ignorant of, or at least looking bad with
regards to the residency rules.
Nearly everyone will agree with DN Subscriber 2 -- there can't be the
slightest tolerance for fudging rules or arguing nuances. A candidate with any
questionable background items or relationships will be totally skewered in the
press, with both this year's appointment and next year's election, as
they should be. Citizens of all affiliations demand clean government and a
strong break from the past. We need a fresh start with a trustworthy AG
immediately, not a year from now.
