Growth of the Church in India is exciting. Demographic variables are good for
continued growth. The population is relatively young with a median age of 25.3
years, and the total fertility rate as well at 2.72 children born to the average
woman. Some social factors are bad. PEW places the level of
government restrictions on religious freedom as high and social hostility as
very high. Allowing missionaries to actively preach the gospel may represent a
softening of government restrictions. With a twelve percent growth
rate, we should be reading many more stories about India in coming years.
I have worked with many people from India over the years. They are a
wonderful, loving, faithful, and humble people.I believe those in
India, Nepal, and China have a significant part of the House of Israel and
"believing blood" within in them. There are alos legends that
Jesus appeared there after his ressurrection, and it is entirely possible
the Lehi and his family traveled through the region during their 12 years
of wandering.Regardless, these are wonderful children of God who
have been prepared to receive their promised blessings.
